    Unusual countries of origin

I have a set of automotive trim installer tools from Harbor Freight (item 95532) that were made in Armenia.

    Thieves

Don't be in a hurry to restock at the remote location without a plan. When I lived in a less desirable apartment complex many years ago, someone stole a bunch of car batteries. A week later they stole a bunch of new car batteries.

    Vintage S-K Tools

Apologies, the 8 should be a #, nothing to blame but my bad focus. We will get there, eventually. Maybe not in our lifetime, but eventually.

    Vintage S-K Tools

Referring to posts 85213-85216 about the socket trays: If you didn't know, there are two depths of the socket trays, depending on whether the sockets are flat-based or cup-based. It can be annoying to find ones that fit, since short ones will fall out of the tall trays, and tall sockets won't...

    My first socket set

My first socket set, if you can call it that, arrived from my dad when I was probably about 9 or 10 years old, maybe a little earlier. I think it might have been so he could see if I had an interest or just so I could have my own. It had 7 sockets and a spinner, no ratchet, and came in a New...

2025 Garage Sale Thread (14th Annual)

You guys are having a great summer. I visited a local estate sale and picked up the following for $8. Not shown are a half dozen straight shank ground jigsaw blades. I also got 3 random pieces of 3/4 birch plywood for $1 each and the Mrs got a like new Laura Ashley king size cotton blanket for...

Proto & AT&G driver set OEM manufacturer?

Adding to this thread. I picked this driver in May of this year. It's an AT&G 77010 magnetic hex bit driver with no onboard storage and no other markings. It is obviously SK, even to the model number format. Only picked it up because it was interesting due to its SK similarity.

    Harry J. Epstein Day 2025

I had the opportunity to stop by the store a couple weeks ago while on a road trip with my wife. Got a chance to wander through 3 floors and the basement and got to meet the man himself. Had a great time, wish I lived closer. Also met the staff, who were very busy with customers and packing...

need help fixing an heirloom Queen Anne(?) table

As far as the finish goes. if refinishing is more trouble than necessary, I might suggest some Howard's Restore-a-finish in mahogany, applied with 0000 steel wool, followed by a coat of wax, such as Briwax, available from many sources.

    Joint opinion

I don't know how heavy your planter will be, but here are a few ideas: 1: pocket screws, but there might not be enough space for all 3 directions. 2: Add a 3 or 6 sided block in the center to attach to or attach through. 3: as Paulsomio suggested, a 3 legged metal plate (similar to the center of...

Were there changes to Minwax stains?

Thanks for all the input. I have been able to find about 1-1/2 pints of the original formula, so that should finish this project. I also found a quart of the original formulation of "Fruitwood" if anybody is interested. I will probably return the can of new formula stain I bought.

Were there changes to Minwax stains?

Hello, I am building a cabinet and the red oak face frame is stained and cleared, and I am working on the doors I started finishing it with an old can of Minwax "223 Colonial Maple" with SKU 2742662230. I ran out halfway through and went to Lowe's for another can. They had "Colonial Maple 223"...
