    Heating the floor or no?

I have radiant floor heat in my shop here in Western Nebraska and highly recommend it. Yes, a unit heater will get the job done but comfort wise, there will be nothing better than going out to your shop when those cold winds are blowing off the water, opening the door and feeling the welcoming...

What are some ornamental grasses that grow over 6FT tall NY 5B Zone.

Yes. It dies back in the fall and I cut it back in the spring. As I said, it is not invasive here. Possibly because it is not native or possibly a different cultivar?

Snow Removal Recommendations - Western NY

I live in western Nebraska and have about as much driveway as you. I have a John Deere 2640 tractor (75hp) with a front end loader, a six foot blade and a box scraper. None did a decent job of removing snow. I bought a Polaris side by side and put a snow blade on it. It does a fantastic job of...

Hand-tools only tool cabinet? (sockets, ratchets, wrenches, drivers, torx, nut drivers, torque tools, etc) No 'junk' drawers...

When I had to replace my tools after a shop fire ten years ago, I opted for this type of box for my hand tools. Much better than digging through drawers to find often used tools.

    Radiant heat?

Don’t give up on radiant floor heat, it is a very comfortable heat and is economical if properly designed and the space is well insulated. I heat 3600 sq ft with two zones of 1/2 “ PEX, 12 loops of 300’ each spaced 12” apart. I use a 75,000 BTU natural gas water heater as a heat source. I’ve...

50x60x16 with 6x6 posts? and vented soffit?

Here in Western Nebraska virtually all pole buildings that I’ve seen use 3 2x6’s laminated together for vertical posts. 6x6 posts are difficult to find that are straight and not warped And twisted.

Under floor heat... is it really that great?

Yes, it is really that great! Right now it is a windy, snowy zero degree day in Western Nebraska and it is a rather unpleasant walk out to my shop but once I open the door, I’m enveloped in a very comfortable heat that is unlike any other. This is radiant heat!! Granted, it is not for...
