Upgraded the snow blower. The driveway is ~4-5 cars wide, and my old 1971 Craftsman seemed to be on it's last leg. Still worked pretty good, but was getting temperamental and would require repairs on a regular basis.
Ended up with an Ariens 24 Platinum SHO. No HP rating, but it's 369cc and...
Gave the daily a much needed mid-winter hand wash.
Gotta love the floor drain, hot hose water and heat!
70 feels a lot more like 80. I think it's because the heater blows to the far end of the garage, opposite the thermostat.
Installed compressor hardlines and a hose reel.
Hose reel matches my retractable water reel I put in a few months ago:
Used galvanized piping, which I realize now is bad. Will redo in copper in a few days.
Came out pretty good. Put in a supply shut off, tank / line pressure gauge and a...
Threw together a quick project on Sunday. Have a 25hp Merc outboard that was gifted to me. Belonged to my grandfather.
Going to whip together a fishing boat in the spring; in the meantime this thing has been laying on the garage floor since August.
Decided to get it mobile....
Pretty...
Since three fixtures will **** up to one another in a long row, I can use one receiver per row (2 receivers total) by running wire to each fixture internally. I wouldn't buy a receiver per fixture.
AC/DC power supplies are cheap. I actually have a few laying around.
I was going to forgo the...
Looking to do 6 total 4ft LED fixtures in my garage to replace my two incandescents (two runs of 3 fixtures).
I'd like to screw a plug adapter into the existing bulb bases, then run the LED fixtures off that (if I have to, I can yank the bulb bases all together to grab a ground.
The caveat -...
Looking for suggestions - have a chunk of concrete at the end of the garage floor / apron that's pretty beat up. My though was knock the whole chunk out, and patch it using a form some how?
Any tips or tricks?
Looks like they tried to glue it in place at one time. It didn't look this bad...
Decided to upgrade the garage incandescents. Let me start by saying - don't buy these.
Are they a little brighter? Yea. But the color temp is horrible and glarish. Also, they claim 8,000 lumens per unit. I don't buy it. They're not *that* much brighter than the 100w incandescents...
Nothing new on the garage front just yet. Currently prepping for winter.
Boat's put away, and scored an amazing deal on some Nokian Hakkapeliitta R2's.
265/50/19, $432 for all four. +10mm over factory sizing for my X5, but nearly half the cost of the 255's.
I had 235/55/19 Michelin X Ice...
Went to pick up a battery tender for my boat from a Facebook market place post. While there, the guy offered me this vintage Cordomatic model 500 retractable light with outlet for $5 bucks. Easy sell.
Took it home, and started cleaning it up.
Got most of the grim off with a magic eraser...
Yea, I don't have a good picture, but I blew up the specs from a different one.
14.2 cfm @ 40psi
9.9 cfm @ 90 psi
Pretty good for a 33 gallon. It is a twin cylinder compressor, so I guess that counts for something. Thought it was a gimmick until I saw the specs.
