    Garage upgrades... after the bathroom...

After a lengthy discussion, the wife and I agreed to add a second bathroom. She conceded to allocate some of the budget for shop upgrades. I worked out a deal that gets me new LED lighting, a garage door opener and a 2 post lift for the shop!! Here is the catch.. I have to turn our large pantry...

HELP!! My mom might freeze to death....

So with the advise I have received, I will call in a pro. But for my own info, was I on the right track? I made sure the unit has power. I know ignition is taking place due to the hot burner box. So that would lead me to believe that due to the module keep trying to ignite, it is not sensing...

HELP!! My mom might freeze to death....

Thanks for the advise (to you and everybody). I will probably defer this to a pro. She would like a new furnace, but if she puts in a new furnace it would make sense to (and she would really like) to have central air. It would be nice to not have to service the roof mount swamp cooler. The...

HELP!! My mom might freeze to death....

That looks much different than the ignition box than the Johnson Controls box that is on it. I guess if it plugs in (has the same connectors) it should work.. Mike

HELP!! My mom might freeze to death....

Acmikee, thanks for the reply. I am getting ignition as the burner box is getting hot. There is not flame viewing window. That would tell me that the gas valve is working?? The fact that the flame sensor has no measurable output make me tend to think its the sensor... but I assume it could be...

HELP!! My mom might freeze to death....

... ok, that might be a little bit overstated. It's not actually that cold yet, but her furnace is on the fritz.. Her furnace is a Lennox pulse 21 (Model # GSR2103-80-1), 1992 vintage. It has a Johnson Controls ignition control box. The symptoms as described to me is that it wont come on...

Help ID my garage door ....

Several years ago there was an "incident" involving the garage door and a trailer that was taller than expected. :shocking: This resulted in the bottom panel of the door becoming severely disfigured and the next panel up suffering as well. The garage was already here when I purchased the house...

    Between 265 & 485 SQ/FT The 12-Gauge Garage

Re: Teardrop Camper -- Structural Thoughts Jack, I think you are on to something here. Can you post some information (specs or brochure) about the materials you are using? This would help a lot in calculating weather or not it will work. Thanks, Mike

    Help needed....

xtremek: There is no "easy" access from the inside. The construction seems to be that they pour the foundation and then set the floor joists on the top of the foundation, overhanging them by 12-18". Then the house is completed as you would a normal house with the exception of a covering over the...

    Help needed....

Thanks for the replies so far. The concrete from the patio extends back to meet the foundation, so I can't dig under the overhang. JoeFin: I may end up doing so, but there will be difficult challenges. Trying to get back where the foundation is will be a challenge. Also, how would I get a...

    Help needed....

Hey, I don't post here much, but I lurk often! I have an elderly, widowed aunt who owns a house that has recently been invaded with mice. She called an exterminator who set traps and "located" how they are getting in. He told her she needed to "cement up the foundation"... So my dad and I went...

    Mounting lights on garage door???

Thanks for the ideas guys... I'll have to think it over. Jack, I like your idea. I guess I could do something similar and somehow mount the lights so they are under the area of the door when it is in the up position. Mike

    Mounting lights on garage door???

I am wondering if anybody has ever mounted lighting (T8 fixtures) to the inside of a garage door?? I often work on cars/motorcycles in my shop (20' X 30' working space) in the evening. During the summer months I like to have the garage door open for ventilation but the garage door covers...
