I worked in restaurants and retail since I started working in '74. Then in the late '90's I got a job in a can factory. I was able to work my way into a mechanic gig, ,which was mostly troubleshooting machinery, learning to stick weld, and fabricating guards etc... out of sheet steel. I LOVED it! But... I averaged 78 hours/week, and that was not sustainable for me. So... I was a manager for Whole Foods Market until 2011, when I got tired of it all and quit. Now I'm attempting to make a living as a handyman, making and selling things on etsy and craft fairs... whatever I can cobble together.
