    Can you identify this wood?

Thanks all. After further inspection, I think I only have three 8' PT boards. They're heavier, harder, and less flexible. Bit smoother finish too, but more knots. The rest is almost certainly cedar. It is very lightweight, has a reddish hue, and unless my mind is playing tricks on me, it smells...

That's what I'm thinking about it being the arsenic stuff. How should I dispose? Give away with a disclaimer?

I thought cedar. Believe it was used as deck boards. Would cedar also be CCA pressure treated? I want to get rid of it as it's just taking up space, but don't want to pass along old PT stuff to someone who isn't aware of the potential hazards.

    Can you identify this wood?

I have a stack of lumber from the previous owner of my house and I'm not sure exactly what it is... Some of it has a "wolmanized" tag, which I know means pressure treated... any way to tell if it's the old CCA (meaning contains arsenic from pre-2004ish) or not? Then some of it looks like it...

    Between 485 & 705 SQ/FT I have no idea what I'm doing: A 26x26 shop build.

Hey odj, Looks like it's been a while since your last post. Hope everything is going well. I enjoyed reading about your garage build. Just wanted to say I'm local to your general area of the world and might be an easy target for someone to get to a road course for the first time. I have a...

    Between 265 & 485 SQ/FT Suburban Dad's Attached 2 Car - The Floor Is Lava

Good question. I'm going to need to take significant uninterrupted time off work when I decide to tear it all apart (because minions), and I don't know when I'll get to that. Didn't want to leave the Racedeck in boxes for months when it only takes a few minutes to pop up sections and pull it out...

Thanks! I was thinking the whole time how glad I am not to be trying to lay porcelain over that surface.

RaceDeck Charred Oak XL + Freeflow XLC

Would you recommend the landscape fabric now that you've had some time with your Freeflow? I just put down some FF (12" tiles) and it definitely flexes and makes some noise. Not sure how I feel about that... I'd hesitate to put the landscape fabric down in an area I regularly got wet and dirty...

    Between 265 & 485 SQ/FT Suburban Dad's Attached 2 Car - The Floor Is Lava

First reaction: After a bit more time to evaluate, my thoughts: It's a bit "clacky," which may be exacerbated by my somewhat wavy concrete surface. If it bothers me, maybe I'll eventually put down some landscape fabric as I've seen others do. The way the light bounces off the louvers is...

    Between 265 & 485 SQ/FT Suburban Dad's Attached 2 Car - The Floor Is Lava

Made some progress over the past couple days. Installed most of the Racedeck (still need to cut the side and back tiles to fill gaps to the walls), and got jackstands off the floor. It starts: Goes down quickly: It's in... Dirty car back where it belongs: More stuff that needs...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Installed the majority of the RaceDeck. Still have to trim the side and back.

There's just barely enough width on that side of the door. It's a great fit and puts an end to twenty years of me thinking there must be a better way.

When I had mine done, it took quite a while took figure out that the Reliance transfer switch had some loose connections internally. Once the electrician popped it open, the installation was straightforward.
