    Kraeuter fine tools since 1860.

Can anyone tell me anything about this pair? Thanks.

    Great Neck tools

According to Wikipedia they are the largest privately owned tool manufacturer in the USA. Their giraffe logo is cool, reminds me of the Lobtex lobster logo.

Snap-on vs. Mayhew Pro 150 Line Punch/Chisel Sets?

I recently purchased a PB Swiss Electricians Chisel and I have been happy about the quality. It was only $20ish dollars too, on DRPD.

the Nepros brand hand tool thread

Late reply but Mike is awesome. I messed up a $150 PB Swiss order (gave him the wrong address and the package got lost) and he immediately said “Well, we’ll have to eat the cost but we’ll send out a new order for you.” It was a birthday gift for my son’s godfather, so it meant a lot.

    Homemade Tools

My parents had one of these, hated it. Guess I’m stupid. But not as stupid as the Kohler “engineers”.

Recommend me a sub-tool truck brand of pliers

This summed things up perfectly. I did however buy a pair of Snap-On 6” needle nose pliers on eBay that had literally six scratches on them for $25 plus $3 shipping, I plan on having them for a really long time and seeing as they are the price of 1.5 fast food lunches I think it’s a good deal...

    Wife tool set up’s

My wife recently asked me to put together a toolset for her to use around the house. I figured that if I feel I’m entitled to spend OUR money on nice tools for myself, she deserves nice tools as well. This being said, I’ve been instructing her on proper use and care of said tools. She has...

    Tools of Japan

Darn it, I’m going to have to get this. (I’m on the couch with the wife who is watching tv and holding my phone at an angle because is she see’s tools she will go “Do you really need more tools!” Lol I kid, she is a good sport about it… most of the time)

Above 1200 Sq/FT From Urban Pie Factory To Mountain Barn

Late reply, I grew up in Los Altos, but this is what the architecture looks like north of Redwood City I lived in Sunset District when I went to San Francisco State University, it looks like the home I lived in. Also I just want it say, OP you are living the dream. Wish you the best.

Stirring up a hornets nest: brand loyalty, or free for all?

For home use I personally think you can get away with having multiple battery platforms/brands because your garage/shed is only a minute away. For commercial use, like at my work, it helps to have a unified battery platform. We use Milaukee, and it’s nice if say, the battery on my impact goes...

    Fire destroyed my beautiful garage.

I’m really sorry to hear this. I just hope no family members or pets were injured in the blaze. Best of luck to your rebuilding what was lost.

Spray foam... before or after wiring?

This isn’t an expert opinion but I would assume it would be easier to do the wire runs before the foam.

    Show your new tool arrivals

Today has been a good week and a nice little haul of German and Japanese tools came in the mail for me. I got: Knipex 8” Forged Wire Strippers Product #13 72 8 They have a great hand feel, very smooth operation, and their stripping/cutting abilities seem great. I was able to cut through 1...

    Why are these so expensive?

That’s what I’ve always used, I get a little nervous filing the cut pieces though, one extra swipe and it can cut in too much. Besides that it seems to work well, except for when a piece goes flying and I end up having to use the plastic equivalent. I never though about using a rounded #10...
