    Here are some closeups. The system is from Rubbermaid. The main problem is you need a real tall ceiling or wall space in an area that is not used. It works great for me. I just keep a step ladder close by. http://www.photobucket.com/garagejournal

    Well that sounds easy enough. My biggest concern is if the joist hangers are made hold. My neighbor built 8' walls instead of ledger boards to put the joists on. but the problem is he lost a little square footage and maybe paid for walls he really does not need. I'm thinking 2x6 or 2x8...

    I am wanting to build a loft in my existing garage. It will span 12 feet wide x 21 deep. I'm thinking ledger boards lag screwed to wall studs with joists spanning across 12' on 16" centers. I'm not sure about joist dimensions. And will joist hangers carry the load? I will be using it for...
