Cordless drill Milwaukee M12 or M18

For what you've described, M12 Fuel all the way. I use my M12 Fuel drill to for up to 1/2" holes in 1/4 steel, and up to 3/4" holes in wood and composites. The M12 Fuel impact driver will run 3" screws no problem. I'd go M18 if was driving screws all day, everyday, but otherwise M12 is more than...

Want Rigid 3/8 square Impact need someone with cordless impact repair experience.

In his description he says he modified the housing and the new anvil. That's why he likely won't just sell the parts.

    snap-on/ grip-on locking pliers

I've had good luck with the Milwaukee vise grips lately. They're made in Taiwan and seem to match my old USA Vice-Grips in quality. I have one pair of Grip-on at work, seem to be ok so far, no heavy use though.

    Let's see your toolbox.

It doesn't matter what the cost to manufacture is, it's what someone is willing to pay that matters. Supply and demand, they'll lower the price when people stop buying them. They don't have that problem though, and sell them as fast as they make them.

Milwaukee fuel vs non fuel is the difference that great?

M12 Fuel replaced most of my brushed 18V tools. Some of the standard M12 tools are good, right angle drill and hackzall especially. Fuel drills, drivers, and impacts are far superior to the brushed counterparts.

Snap on heritage vs Mac select

Snap on heritage vs Mac select

You most likely could fit everything on the school list in a large cart, using good organization. You most likely won't be able to leave everything in the trays, they burn too much space. The Westling socket trays and Ernst wrench racks will save you some room.

Snap on heritage vs Mac select

Honestly, since you have no transport/don't like/can't find other options, just get the Craftsman box. Then buy the Snap-on tool set to put in it, that's what I would do in your position. If you find yourself deciding on a different career path later on, you can recoup your money from the...

Snap on heritage vs Mac select

For the size range you're restricted to, I wouldn't put out the money for either of those boxes. I'd buy a HF 44, when out of school, sell it or trade it in on a bigger box. The HF boxes are better than any current craftsman or kobalt.

    Hex bit socket advice

I use a lot of bit sockets at work on titanium and stainless hardware. I personally use Proto on ratchets and Bondhus as an impact set, never had any problems. It's important with titanium hardware that the bits stay true or they will strip with a loose fit. Worst I've seen is Craftsman in the...
