this is just a little filter thats open to atmosphere. If your missing it it wont affect anything (aka it doesent seal or cap the hole)

sounds like the locks weren't welded evenly side to side or the casting is slightly off on one.

ive never done it but i have no reservations on whether its possible (aka i would not hesitate to try). i also built a platform between my lifts so that if i needed to put a trans jack in there and get some more clearance i could. My ceilings are only ~9.5' and im a short dude so i can barely...

the only time i have ever had clearance issues was running fuel lines along the frame rail, otherwise its never been in the way.

i think you guys are forgetting that the impact on an impact gun is different from the impact on a hammer drill. Axial impacts on a drill bit should have no bearing on its strength compared to a hammer drill which is pushing the bit into the workpiece.
