I don't know if this was posted anywhere but that is called a "holdback provision". they pay rep cost when the item is replaced. In a big claim like that the reputable companies will advance money but they all do holdbacks.

I'm an insurance agent and you wouldn't believe how hard it is to convince people to increase their limits sometimes. Even with great coverage, it's a nightmare at best. I hope your buddy had good coverage. What a shame.

Are these heaters dangerous if vented? By that I mean, if working with paints or solvents, they have an open flame and vented or not, isn't that a hazard? Am thinking putting in a h/w unit heater off my house boiler but man is that expensive! Any input? Thanks, Brian
