    Air Compressor nerds wanted

Well I currently already run an air line for when I need it from and old post war 30gl? 2hp 230volt mated to a old kellogg pump. It has a knock and the tank I don't trust any more since it was last tested in '67 and it is rusted on outside and had some water in it maybe sitting around. So...

    Air Compressor nerds wanted

Well I am redirecting my needs versus wants as well and what can go the easiest logistically right now. I have my main shop that I need a good compressor in , however I also have my garage where I do alot of wrenching. I am thinking of going portable since it will keep cost down and I haven't...

    Air Compressor nerds wanted

So the difference between me and some guys is I don't have the local resources to find good old air compressors or the time even though I like restoration work. I am willing to buy new and spend the money...to a point on USA. I only have a budget of below $1750. I am looking at single phase 2...

    Garage Slab Replacment

bumping this as I may be in the same situation. My slab is completely cracked and just junk. I need to put in a car hoist and I only have a 4in slab with cinder block stem wall. Normal 2 car garage. So I have to jack the whole house and somehow pour a whole new slab??? I am in the midwest so...

Fireball Tool Hardtail Vise - The Best Vise On The Market???

most people don't know that all countries subsidize certain products/companies. So Canada was dumping milk (which Kemps bought and help put dairy farmers under so I have been told) and also was dumping it's lumber as well. Hence why everyone is complaining lumber prices went up after a bill was...

A challenge for those much smarter than me

thanks for all the opinions thus far. Thought of going mini split and tying into a wood boiler system/solar thermal. I have been trying to find a "fan" but more of an industrial blower design to mount up in the trusses to circulate the air. My grocery store has them but have no idea what they...

A challenge for those much smarter than me

Running a dehumidifire right now inside because of the huge heat wave but alot huge temp swings to get rid of the condensation. This is a mobile unit I had in my house basement. I will keep mulling things over, but need to get something figured out soon.

A challenge for those much smarter than me

I made sure through numerous storms to make sure no leaks. The batts have the white reflective thermal barrier facing inward. Thanks for the ideas thus far.

A challenge for those much smarter than me

Sorry, located in MN. I have insulation batts between the trusses next to the tin roof with a 4in gap. I could pull the tin off the roof and put a conventional sheathing and insulate even more as well.

A challenge for those much smarter than me

Longtime lurker. Rarely post. I have a roughly 28ft x 35ft pole building. I already studded it in and insulted it with polystyrene and R15 batts. Now comes the fun. I want to keep open trusses for making it feel larger and letting natural light in and for equipment. On the ridge cap I...

    Vermont Detached 29x36

I am a car guy and there is no way if I was designing a building or just "buying" a Morton would I have low ceilings. Mine are the same height as yours, but a pole building where I am leaving the trusses open and have a thread trying to figure out heating it and insulation ideas. Anyways ...

wood boiler in combo with mini-electric??

Thanks for the further advice guys! Good info. The wood pricing was per "loggers" cord, not face cord. $85-120 per loggers cord on a truck is pricing around here depending on if it is hardwood and how far haul is. I will look into the non pressurized boiler. The electric mini-boiler would be...
