Get some samples in of Ribtrax. I would suggest this or a similar product and in the areas you have the snow mobiles use our Rubbertrax (softer and less slippery) product as it locks right into the standard Ribtrax product. We did that for Richard Petty's snowmobiles and they loved it.

I agree with Justin & Jorgen. Fix directly to concrete or sub-surface then put the tiles around. In order to clean up the cut I suggest using a 3" Swisstrax grommet made of rubber. You core drill the tile then install the grommet around the area you fixed to the floor. Just looks cleaner and...
