    Hammer time!

Since we're talking storage...I made this for my bench out of bed frame rails. Have many more hammers all over but these are used often and I can keep track of them.

Just a follow up. Got the seal kit from Hydraulic Parts Supply in Sawyer, KS as Hiball suggested. They have great service, ordered Friday afternoon and in the mail box Monday. I installed the kit and so far so good. I need to get bearings and put the wheels on and then verify operation under...

Got down to the shop and got everything loose. I have a toolbox full of odd tools that really don't fit my purpose and in there I found a socket thing that I think is for bicycles? Fit that smaller gland nut perfect and got it out easily. At this point it's time to track down a rebuild kit...

It probably literally weighed a ton when it was loaded. I believe it had a couple more trays that are missing. The trays weigh about 25lbs each. I would be interested to know the history and how it ended up in northern illinois.

Had some time so I tore into the Ajax and got it all apart. Started on the hydraulic unit. Ram doesn't look too bad. Cylinder walls looked the same. The gland nuts for the pumps are getting penetrate treatment before I try to get those off. my wrenches don't grab them well and it's already...

Yes they look rough, After I cleaned them up I see potential in the 2? We will see. you know better than I do you are likely right. I took the plug out of the 10 ton unit. I generally would have passed on these. When I buy stuff like this I look at the sum of the parts and metal. I do fab...

Baking pans and sheets are great. I too pick them up when I find them for free/cheap. I worked in screw machine shops and it's what we put small parts in before going to inspection. Great for small items and can be moved around with weight in them

The drawers pull out nearly the entire way and stay supported. It works well for my intention.

The casters are great. They pivot. Never seen this before.

Got this in a trade. I saw it and thought it was perfect for storage of smaller items which I have much of and collectively it is heavy. I'm guessing it weighs 300-400#. I have probably 500# of hss tooling. I traded a 7x mini lathe for that and a bunch of hss tool blanks, end mills, etc. I...

I've been meaning to share this one. It's an old typeset foundry roller cabinet? Very heavy...the double casters roll over uneven ground with ease. Shallow drawers work well for all the drills, milling cutters/bits, taps, etc

The one with the square saddle is a Blackhawk SJ4 I believe. It's the broken one. Yes I'm not heartbroken over it as the others appear usable, certainly after they get new seals. I liked the Ajax which is basically a Walker the best. The 10 ton will come in handy with tractors. Once I get...
