My chop saw has one on it. It is bolted to the base and the clamp that holds the metal when cutting. The quick release reduces clamping/unclamping time.

Their value is to remove most of the debris from the air stream before it enters the filter, thus extending the life of the filter. It doesn’t matter the vacuum source or filter medium, I don’t think.

I’m stuck on dumpster diving and finding a piece of micarta! Cool find!

I will eventually tie them together for ease of movement. I have not decided to build a cart or brackets yet.

I would keep the trim. I do a lot tinkering and build stuff. It will come in handy, especially with todays prices.

Experimenting with French cleats for organization. I ripped 1”x6”s instead of ripping a sheet of plywood. They were #2s so a lot of work fixing them as they were pretty rough. Next attempt, I will use plywood. #1s were almost twice the price. Building the holders now.

I picked one up just like with missing pipe jaws. It look like a Baileigh vise and I think the jaws will work. What keeps the jaws from turning 180deg. Mine was welded and there is not a lock screw or pin like the new Baileigh.

I vote leave the basement and turn it in to a pit and don't add the lift. Set up one bay like Oil Express. T>D>C
