    4-Car New Construction Finish

A few updates... the T590 I picked up ended up missing a few options that the seller claimed it had, so I moved it along and picked up a nice T630 with super low hours (and still under factory warranty. It’s made quick work of my grading and this weekend I hope to get some of my landscaping...

    Lowe’s Craftsman Wrenches- Poor Quality

I bought a craftsman 3/8 drive ratchet at Menards recently, and the internals gave out the first time I used it. Got another under the “lifetime warranty” and it gave out the first time I used it. Now on number 3....debating if I should just save myself the hassle and drop it in the scrap bin...

    4-Car New Construction Finish

A few more additions to the garage today in the form of a sturdy work surface and my trusty Wilton vice (which could use a fresh coat of paint!). Getting started on helping my son with his RX8 engine rebuild as well! Yesterday I picked out a nice used T550 bobcat to replace my S590. It should...

    4-Car New Construction Finish

I found a project to keep me occupied during the pandemic...I installed pallet racking for the entire length of the garage. Used (4) 102” sections linked together. I set them up high (96”) for snowmobile storage and then a shelf at 73” walk-under so I can move in and out of the space easily. I’m...

    4-Car New Construction Finish

This past weekend I spent some time cleaning up and actually using my garage instead of working on it. Also trying to get some exercise before Spring biking starts up... it is cleaned up pretty nicely right now, hopefully I can keep it that way for a while. Sent from my iPhone using Garage...

    4-Car New Construction Finish

For WiFi access, I’m setting up an ASUS AIMesh systems. Hopefully I’ll get seamless coverage between the house and the garage. The routers will connect to each other via LAN, through a gigabit Ethernet switch in the house. Hopefully at least one of the two burial rates Ethernet cables will...

    4-Car New Construction Finish

Do you keep it warm all of the time, or do you just warm it up as needed when you want to work? Also curious about insulation and cost to keep it heated...if you have an idea... Sent from my iPhone using Garage Journal

    4-Car New Construction Finish

I’ve made some serious progress on wiring, and the siding is almost complete as well, though I can’t take credit for the siding, the wiring is all me. ;) Here are a few pics...I ended up making a solid conduit (1/2” pipe) post to mount my UFO lights. They are up at about 14’ currently and with...

    Wago Push Connectors

I’ve used the Waco lever style and push style on my new garage and loved them. Fast, easy, compact. The lever style worked great with stranded wire, IMO better than wire nuts for the 20 ga dimmer wire in my UFO’s. I just wish they had a versio. For the triple-zero gauge feeder wire I had to...

The Willows Barn Build (32x72x14 with loft)

Great build thread. I am envious of the simple excavation and ease of building 25’ from the lake. Awesome! You created a great looking building, congrats and enjoy! Keep the updates coming! Sent from my iPhone using Garage Journal

    4-Car New Construction Finish

26’ deep, 38’ wide, 11’ walls, 19’ interior height at the peak. As for the heater, I’ll be using a hanging unit, probably 80K BTU plus or minus. I had to run a 1” gas line to support that BTU rating, since it’s a 300’ run... more to come soon!! Sent from my iPhone using Garage Journal
