    Carlyle Tool Deals - Q1 2019

I received my screwdrivers, but I opted to pickup at the store, after ordering online. It took a few days, and I had to call them to ensure it was ready for pickup. I hope that helps. Good luck.

Garage fire rebuild and insurance co woes

Still trying to figure out the photo upload. The cause is "undetermined". There was too much damage to figure out completely. Funny that someone else mentioned the battery charger...when the private fire investigator found out I had batteries for cordless equipment plugged in he got...

Garage fire rebuild and insurance co woes

Hello to everyone. Awesome website, that I have gained a ton of knowledge from over the year or so I have been on. I just suffered a garage fire (detached from house) a couple of weeks ago. It was a 22x20; built of cinder block/brick and rafters for roof. It had a lean to/metal awning on...

    The VISES of Garage Journal

Anyone interested in a Chas Parker 89 1/2 send me a PM. I have no affiliation with the seller, but have bought from him before. It looks big/rusty, but it reportedly works. Too big for me unless it's a collector's item.

    Considering a Quincy A-416

Gents: I am considering buying the compressor listed. Photos below. I am new to this, but want to buy something that is quality and will work with air-tools. I am NOT a big time mechanic, I don't even own any air tools yet. I want to restore a pickup soon so it's in the works. I have...

Just swinging by to show a new acquisition. The previous ones I posted about were gone when I went by to look at them. This one is nicer...It appears to be a Desmond Simplex. Unsure of additional but will begin cleaning it up soon. It appears to function as designed and is straight. Any...

VISE REPAIR 101 all vise repairs, lubricants, sources for parts and the tricks to fix

I just picked up this ATHOL vise. I will post again when I get it cleaned up. I'm still working on my Parker 87 but should have completed pics of that soon. This one has obviously had a hard life, but functionally works well. Any idea when this was manufactured? Thanks for all the...

    The VISES of Garage Journal

I think I just missed the deal of the century on a local classified. Check out the vise in this picture. $35 for the bench and vise. I'm new to the vise world, but it looks like a Wilton to me. If anyone here bought it, I was calling for the bench so if you don't want it...

VISE REPAIR 101 all vise repairs, lubricants, sources for parts and the tricks to fix

I have a question for those who have refurbished vises with pipe jaws. Do you re-use the pins that you drove out (Chas Parker 87) to remove the pipe jaws or do you find something else, newer? Same question for the pin that holds the threaded collar into the main body. Thanks,

Sears.com hot deals and clearance thread

Thanks. I just bought this one. Earlier tonight I met a guy locally selling a 6 in CM, used, for $60. I passed on it because the switch was positional and he wouldn't come off of his price.
