Lets make an all vintage Snap-on tool picture thread!

An old socket display for a Snap-on truck. $28 on eBay. I just couldn't say no. All the 3/8" drive sockets in my toolbox are a mix of different American brands from different periods that I've gathered from collecting. I would feel like a **** putting any socket on this rail that isn't a...

Show your Indestro and Duro-Chrome tools

Scored this at a local thrift spot. A beautiful 1/4" drive deep socket set w/ caddy! With barely any signs of use! It was an absolute joy to find this on a shelf amongst other typical thrift store (dare I say) 'junk'.

2026 Garage Sale Thread (15th Annual)

Yesterday's adventure! I won an online auction on Hibid.com for this 1974 Craftsman roller + middle box pair. I was the highest bidder at $42.50 + 15% buyers premium. I think I got it for so cheap for possibly two reasons: One of them being that most of the online auctions hosted on Hibid offer...

Metal Cabinets vintage or homemade and no name toolboxes. got any to show please do

Update to this post: Solved! It's a Porter-Ferguson service cart. Made by H. K. Porter Inc., out of Boston, Massachusetts. I found this blue one for sale on FBM (more pictures in the attachments). It's in Ohio for $250 OBO if anyone wants it. After one Google search, I found a GarageJournal...

Thanks! And ohhh yeah, it was a battle. In short, the breaker bar mod created tons of shear force on the screws overtime. Their strength was totally compromised. It took hours of flathead screwdrivers, a manual impact driver, extractor kits, and lots of PB Blaster.

I drove 2 hours to these FB marketplace sellers who were only 10 minutes apart from one another. Then made a stop on the way home. 3 good deals! Buy #1. Lot listed for $50: PLOMB 5849 'Big Bertha' 1" drive ratchet, Vulcan H-51A 3/4" ratchet with Williams H-2A handle, TRW 3/4" extension, PROTO...

    REM/XQL Baron Toolbox

UPDATE: I found photos online of a double-bay variant of the REM/XQL, which appears to have custom stripes painted on it. Same design language as the REM/XQL 'BARON' and Cornwell 'Brute' boxes. But with no nickname like the others have, which is interesting. What a beast.

Restore is a hotspot for finding nice drivers. I see Xcelite, VACO, and Bondhus at different locations regularly.

Proto 5849 1” ratchet male/female —welded socket. Is it ruined ? Or can I just rebuild?

I am currently in the same exact situation. I just bought a 1" Plomb ratchet that's been welded shut with the drive-end sticking out the back side. I'm going to try the same rescue that you have done. But I am still trying to understand why, both in your case and in mine, the weld modification...

Another one from earlier this year. This KRA545 was part of a $60 FB marketplace buy that included a rusted-through Remline top box and lots of misc. tools. Before, in the condition I bought it in. After a sponge bath bath + 1 coat of rubbing compound. And finally, new casters. Great...

2026 Garage Sale Thread (15th Annual)

Here's a haul of everything I got from my first ever estate sale visit, earlier this year. The first pic is the only one I took at the event, which shows the line for the garage. The rest of the pics are from after I got home. 1970's Craftsman triple stack. Sticky note said "Toolbox $120". I...

I, too, would have snatched that can of white lithium grease immediately haha. I'd consider it a spare and re-lube all my friction slides as soon as I'd get home. Buying myself a fun chore + supplies for only a dollar? Yeah, get in the bag.

Metal Cabinets vintage or homemade and no name toolboxes. got any to show please do

Here's a picture from April at an estate sale I went to. Cool old service cart. Couldn't ID it. I passed on it because I already bought a 1970's Craftsman grey/red 3-piece stack that they had for $120. But in hindsight I do wish I bought it now that I have finished some other projects.

Need ID: “57253-B” deep-well DBE wrench. PROTO??

Looks like you've solved it. It's a Proto! Thanks! EDIT: Not solved yet. It could still be an OTC or Bear wrench.

Need ID: “57253-B” deep-well DBE wrench. PROTO??

Good morning, Fellas! I need some help ID’ing this deep-well, double box-end wrench. I got it in a 4-piece wrench lot on FB marketplace for $20. It’s an 11/16” x 3/4”. No brand name, no forge mark. Just “57253-B” stamped into it. When quoting the model # into Google with the word wrench, I see...
