The part of your story that hit me…is the fire.
5 years ago we were surrounded by the Dixie fire….the only thing not burnt for 30 miles in every direction is in that pic. We were lucky…and our immediate area is nice…but fire can ruin things.
plant trees now, as soon as you can. By the time...
Great project OP….
you ever had lakefront property before?
Mine was over grown and took me 4-5 years to get it the way I wanted…I love your new home design.
Here is a teaser for you to look forward to…
Sooo…was that cylinder in the rear bank?
Wifey had one with the v6 where the fuel economy solution shut down the entire rear bank. Many people had problems with the engines eating themselves due to oil pressure issues. Just wondering if that played a roll.
Sooooo…you wanna put duct tape on this and call it home. OP…you really wanna sleep and live, with family or guests it that?
Lots of good comments. Those trusses are not something you should screw with…may just make things worse. Good luck.
I built this many years ago. 26’ cantilever…gate is about 8’ longer than that. Took several tries to get it stiff enough to deal 100 degree temp swings seasonally. The track is aluminum and the rest is steel. Weighs north of 800 lbs…maybe near 1k. Can slide it by hand easily. The posts are...
Yep…get a shovel. Mine are 4 feet down…start digging. I have replaced one, dug by hand. 125 bucks for the replacement….put pea gravel around the bottom so it drains well or the head will freeze again.
I guess I am the odd man out. I have many many old Craftsman wrenches and they work great decades later. I have the Knipex ones too…but reach for the old USA made Cmans…
Oh, and to the early poster saying Captain Slow had one in his box…they call em Spanners…
I have Milwaukee Fuel for both sizes…won’t get another 6.5”. I works good…but the full size saw just seems easier to grab and use…and because the blade is down farther in cuts a bit easier…
All a man needs…
