As always Hoorn, nice job on the caster set. Looks like the new "tires" are going to work well. Really nice that you were able to find the dirty paper on the Hamilton. Thanks for posting. always appreciate your work.

Looks like ya got a winner Hoorn! Did I see that wheel in cast iron??? Or am I thinking of something else? Only had experience with one set and I modified that set (shortened the cross rod) to fit a different machine. Which I then sold....:( Nice Job!(y)

Definitely a keeper Debcrow. Good shape for a 90yr old! Don't see small ones around like this much anymore. Motor will be easy but the belt guard is going to be hard one to source...

Corndoggeh, Nice get! The riser and guard are an exceptional find. Rare around here. Love the " Retirement Light"! Don't recognize the motor?? more pics please... As for the CI stand, the machine works the same regardless, so I would work with it on steel stand and if CI base show's...

Snip's. Nice job on motor resto! Looks great, and if the rest of the sander gets that attention it will be an awesome machine for the next 70 years. Looking forward to seeing it finished.

The water cups are cast iron also. They are getting harder to find now. Might try BYOD over at Old Wood Workers Machines (OWWM). I think the last one I got was from someone on OWWM having them recast. That one was for the newer grinder's having the hole in the center of the casting for the...

NYBM: You done good! That's a nice little grinder and looks complete. 1/2" wheels, tool rest complete and not ground out, lights still there. Only thing I see missing are the 2 water pots. That 1st gen pedestal is one of my favorites as the tray gives you a place to lay your next part. Easy...

    Grinder stand ID

M J, Not of much help, but I had the same question back in 2015 and here is the thread. https://www.garagejournal.com/forum/threads/interesting-old-grinder-stand-in-need-of-id.304194/ Not much help, but that's all I have. Here is a pic with the stand in use with a delta buffer on it. My...

Looks good Hoorn, What you putting it on? Pain to install bottom bracket on machine, but once it's on and tweaked, you're good to go. Doesn't look as if it had been used much. I found that replacing the square bolt on the slide rod with small eye bolts worked well with making quick...

Way to goi Hoorn! 3 of the best just came your way. You're going to have a great winter rebuilding those! Looking forward to seeing the "Hoorn" touch applied. You're going to like the foot feed. Takes some tweaking to get it right, but looks like it has all the parts so you should be...

The VINTAGE toolboxes of Garage Journal!

Toolboxted and Old Radar, thanks for the help. Needing to pickup a couple of parts for the restoration, I stoped by Gerstner's in Dayton and was able to confirm that my box was probably made between the 42' to 48' period as stated. Picked up the missing pull and the backplate as well as a new...

Thanks Outlamws, but their site is down for some reason. As I live near Dayton, I will be contacting them for some parts. But I was hoping someone could help me date it before I started restoration.
