Re: what did you do in your garage today?
Finished sanding my solid maple bowling alley lane and red oak trimmed workbench top and mounted my new Wilton C-1 and Gladiator power strip. My 4 year old thinks it's the bomb....
Jack,
What did you do to account for the HF side cabinet being not as tall as the 13 drawer when you mounted them to the floor or base? HF website says side cabinet is 33 1/4 H and you state 13 drawer cabinet is 33 1/2. Enough different to pose a problem mounted on a base or floor.
Thanks
what's up with Snap On and not showing prices? I don't want to take the time to search it out, but this is the second product catalog i've seen of theirs recently. Over my lifetime I have learned to just write-off companies that don't put prices up front...because they know they over price for...
i totally agree now that i am listening to and considering everyone's ideas. i've decided to use two other craftsman stainless roller chests for the base to a workbench...your idea will have it all looking uniform.
I want it lower than the casters allow and i don't want **** getting under the tool box....you know...every time you drop something it rolls/bounces under something even if not nearby.
Jack...you live in CA? I might would in CA or other dry climates, but I'm in the moist south...plus I don't want the look of wood. This is in an old garage I'm converting to a shop where termites have been and will surely visit again, so it's kind of a combined reasoning.
So far I have never wanted to move it and I can't see needing to in a 16 x 20 workshop. If I'm working on a vehicle or on the bench it is within close enough reach. If I'm doing other projects I'm outside the shop and wouldn't be rolling it out there either. Plus, I like the height of it better...
I can't prove that it will. you can't prove that it won't. who would we rather follow if we don't know who is really right if our engines are concerned? i thought so...
