My 40x56 steel quonset. Insulation? What would you do?

Hi GJ. I thought I'd share the progress my building. It's a 40x56 steel quonset building. The shop door is a 14x14. The back of shop has another opening for a 14x14 door that I closed off. If I plan on expanding, I can do so later. It's been a two year project. I am a Red Seal Automotive Tech...

Quonset hut climate control and ventilation questions

I built a 40x56x18 "S-style" quonset hut. I am in the same situation. That batting will not hold up. The plastic protecting the insulation is only on one side. Spray foam is the way to go. I'm saving up to CC spray foam my entire shop.

What NOT to do when installing Rotary 2 post.

After driving 16hrs to pick up the lift, I got home and realized that I had no extensions. I was short a pallet. Contacted the distributor and they will ship them tomorrow. They promised to make it right, so I'm not too disappointed. They mentioned a tool/accessory for my inconvenience. I asked...

What NOT to do when installing Rotary 2 post.

Thanks for all the great advice. The concrete is 3000 psi 5" thick with two "divots" dug into the base layer about a foot deep in the general area of posts. I don't think I'll be able to drill all the way through.

What NOT to do when installing Rotary 2 post.

I'll be attempting to install my Rotary 12k 2 post this weekend. The lift supplier told me I should drill completely through concrete, so I can cut the anchor and drive down through bottom of concrete if the anchor does not torque properly. Are there tricks to promote anchors biting or is it a...

Rotary Lift in Canada. What can I expect to pay?

Thanks, I found it. I would like to start new even though it will cost 7 times that amount. I received two quotes today both are within $600 of each other. Rotary 10k (EH4 15'9' Height) for $10900 and the Rotary 12K (EH1 15'9" Height) for $11800. The Hofmann 12K came in at $6700.

Rotary Lift in Canada. What can I expect to pay?

So $10k might be what I'd expect to pay for a 10k Rotary. I'll report back when quotes come in.

Rotary Lift in Canada. What can I expect to pay?

Thank You, I do feel the SPO10-EH4 will be fine for my needs and will be sticking with Rotary. The lift will be more of a hobby lift that will be used for work in the future. The SPO9 Rotary lifts I worked under in the past did handle all but a 1-ton diesel that it refused to lift more than a...

Rotary Lift in Canada. What can I expect to pay?

Hi, I'm in the process of finishing my shop. It's a 40x56 steel quonset. I've been reading this site for many years and appreciate all the info. I am ready to purchase a Rotary 10k or 12k 2 posts symmetrical lift. I can't seem to find approximate prices here in Canada on the web. I've sent three...
