For a while my company was looking into a laser profileometer to check some of our produced parts. We had a rep from Keyence come in and give us the dog and pony show with one of these and it looked pretty neat! We did however get some sticker shock with it which curbed the project at 20K per...
Thanks for the insight! It is 3 phase but we have a rotary phase converter at the home shop so powering the thing up isn't a huge deal. Moving it on the other hand poses a slight challenge, considering the thing weighs in at 5K lbs and we only have a 3Klb forklift.
The machine has a 4 way tool...
The company that i work for is upgrading some of it's older equipment and we are in the process of moving some of the lathes from the shop floor to our warehouse. One of the lathes is a 1950's R5 turret lathe with a 10" 3 jaw chuck and i am halfway interested in buying it from the company...
Hmmm I haven't tried Fastenal yet.
The whole reason for the extra long driver is to access fasteners that are recessed 3" down under the surface with 1/4" access holes. Not quite enough to fit an extension down inside.
Ideally these things would be at least 4-5" long to give some extra wiggle...
Hey Guys!
I have been on the hunt for some extra long hex drivers for my 1/4" electric impact nut driver. Basically what i am looking for is an extra long version of the attached image with the detent cutout.
The closest thing i can locate are long drivers with a 1/4" square drive, but that...
Wow! What a gorgeous structure so far!
Can anyone shed some light on what is attached to the side of that Ford loader? Look at the third set of pictures, first picture.
I agree with you Metalhead, I don't think their is anything copyrightable about this idea. I'm taking all previously made components and just combining them. Not really anything particularly special, just they don't cost an unbelievable amount like the Bluetooth tactical/aviation systems that...
I was thinking that it would fall right in place with lawn guys.
I don't quite know yet how formal i would go, if at all. What kind of certifications are you talking about here? I'm kind of lost as far as legality wise with this sort of thing.
Hey GJ!
I realize that I haven’t been the most active member on the forum and it probably looks a bit odd that I have been a member for 5 years and have only made a handful of posts. I have been more of a lurker over that time period, but never the less GJ competes with Craigslist for my most...
I have yet to get a bad set of IRWIN vice grips. "The original" are the way to go. At work I am not exactly easy on these things either. That little 5mm hex on the adjustment knob is a joke. We weld a 1/2" nut to the nob so we can toque these things down with a 3/4" wrench. They are not exactly...
Cal-Hawk falls into this category as well. Their stuff is sold at the local "bottom feeder" store. This store buys out other stores excess and selling it. Only place i have ever seen the brand sold.:dunno:
Could you take a extra piece of straight tubing and tack it on the end of the one you need to cut, that way you can flip the tubing notcher around 180 degrees and clamp on to a straight section? I don't see any way of making that bend fit into the slot in the jig...
That's kind of humorous, their are multiple threads that are bashing the US system, yet all along it seems that it is the basis for all of these drive dimensions by all the tool makers.
That is unless the dimensions are purely driven by an engineering and materials standpoint (the drive needs...
