My Install: Racedeck, terrible asphalt, and the great ShockTower question

I haven't finished along the left side yet, so 6". In back since it's covered up by cabinets and shelves again 6" In front about 1/2", and on the right about 1/2". Yesterday in the sun it expanded all the way, didn't have any extra space at all.

    17x17 garage update

Phase 1 complete! First step was moving the costco shelving over: Here's my big pile of black boxes while moving the shelving. I love these things. Container Store, keep everything tidy and dust free. And here's the bins back on the shelf in it's new home: It's amazing how much crud gets...

My Install: Racedeck, terrible asphalt, and the great ShockTower question

As part of my garage project, I finished installing my racedeck flooring today. My garage has terrible, cracked, wavy asphalt flooring with holes, jack stand marks, nasty unknown white things on the surface, and a good solid 5" difference in height in various places. I use it for storage and...

There are a ton of cracks, half a dozen jack stand impressions, dips and swirls all over. Local zoning makes it dubious to do any structural work...

    17x17 garage update

Shoved everything over to one side, and swept up to prep for the cabinet phase 1 install tomorrow. Garage before I started anything: Nasty floor and cruft after I shoved everything over: Clean floor and walls ready for the cabinets: View of the nasty asphalt floor. I hate this floor...

    17x17 garage update

Moved into our 90 year old house 4 years ago. Garage has always been used as storage only - it's mid way back on the property, too small to really park usefully in, with a really narrow driveway that makes backing up and tandem parking annoying. This is AFTER having the junk guys come and...
