    BuickFarmers Barn

Forgive me if you've already answered this question, but what did you use to stain the interior/exterior... if anything? I love the board and batten look and intend to incorporate that into my garage somewhere. Your place looks awesome!

My small well used 2 car garage

I've seen you here on the forum and noticed the Vector, but I didn't think to research your old posts until today... Wow, you actually own a Vector. Very cool! I remember when Vector was trying to sell stock in the late 80's. The car was so incredible, I was tempted to buy some. Very nice. Take...

I love that look. I'd like to have a house with that kind of style. I'm really enjoying your build.

    MANCAVE/SHOP in the making

Love the look of corrugated metal with a nice "petina" combined with some rough cedar. I used the same stuff for my girlfriend's garden shed that's attached to my garage. I like the way it turned out, so I bought some more of the metal/cedar to put in my garage.

Garage doors- what do you folks recommend?

I purchased a triple layer Amarr. I plan to install heat and air soon so the R-value was really important. As I recall it's rated at 15.6. It's not the highest rated door I found, but by far the best bang for my buck. You may want to consider installing the doors yourself. Like most projects...

    Sun PCS Air Conditioner w/Heat

I'm ready to install my wall mounted air conditioner, but I'm not sure of how to fabricate an insulated duct capable of handling heat as well. It also requires clearance between the duct in surrounding structure. It will pass through the exterior brick, 2" x 4" wall, and drywall. I need some...

    NEW Garage Door won't open!

It's fixed!!! Thanks to Torino Dan! He had the same symptoms, where the door would come up about 18" and stop. The problem... springs were reversed. I had already written this off as impossible, because I accidentally installed them correctly the first time only to swap them after reading an...

    NEW Garage Door won't open!

Thanks so much for all the ideas and encouragement. I'm going to get back on this thing tomorrow morning. I'll get report back with what I find. Maybe it will save someone else the same frustrations.

    NEW Garage Door won't open!

I've checked the hinges for orientation and proper installation order. I loosened all of the track brackets, so they're free to 'float'. The rollers have plenty of spacing. I pulled the tracks out as wide as they would go and away from the face of the framed opening so they're wouldn't be any...

    NEW Garage Door won't open!

I installed my new 12' wide x 8' high, insulated, Amarr door. I can raise it about 18" and it binds to a stop. If you pull hard enough it will stick in that position. I thought I was completely **** about the install! I've spent several hours going over all the hinges, track, springs, rollers...
