    Crowbar brand?

That’s the plan. In fact, it’s already with a good friend of mine who works in the railroad industry. He says he’ll have a duplicate made soon. We’ll see and will keep you updated!

    A Real Cord Reel

Just saw one for sale, seller asking $18. Decided to pass as it was scratched like somebody dragged it along the floor. :shake head: Still need to mount the one I bought last year, a hefty one. My eyes popped when I saw one recently on a fire truck:

    Crowbar brand?

Thanks for all the inputs and the crow joke. [emoji6] Now due to several more names for it, I can expand my search for the elusive replacement

    Crowbar brand?

Thanks MattT, I didn’t realized that it could be done. Was told that the material of the bar is tool steel so it required a special weld. Will check with my present welder if he can heat and rebend the neck. If yes, then you have made me a happy man.

    The VISES of Garage Journal

Thanks zkling for your input. I heard back from the seller of The Parker 69 and he wanted $250. Decided against it as it is three hours drive from my place. May take a look at the Columbian just to see what he did to the vise. I guess I should be content with the Records after all. In...

    Crowbar brand?

Thanks Downwindtracker for the head up on Burke bar. Unfortunately their ends are also at roughly 45 degrees, just like what the welder did to my bar. The long handle gets in the way when doing renos in baths and kitchens. I preferred the original 90 degree bend for tight spots. Will pay...

    Crowbar brand?

Thanks Barry. I do have several of those goose neck wrecking bars you mentioned. This one has a different bend at the neck. I assumed it’s more for lifting? Here is my cruelly drawn picture of what it was like before the welding shop ruined it. I’ve seen similar shaped smaller ones in...

    The VISES of Garage Journal

Thanks GETRIDAONE for the link to this vise! Totally blown away by the creativity and ingenious of it all. Excellent attention to details! As one said, ‘now, there’s a vise I don’t covet...’. It is so massive! Lol

    Crowbar brand?

A little background; I bought this great find at a garage sale for $18, about 20 years ago. It measures 48” long and 1-1/8” thick. It’s painted blue so maybe it’s a Record? As far as I could see, there are no identification markings anywhere on it. Some years ago, I used it on one demo job and...

Would this vise be suitable for this scale of project? Seriously, is this thing even real?? I do have my limits. Found pic on Pinterest

    The VISES of Garage Journal

Finally, here are the pics of the two vises I’m interested in! What do you think of the hole in the Parker vise, should it be a reason to pass? Still haven’t heard back from the seller, seems to be more of a language issue as he only speak French. Here’s the Columbian 504 And the...
