    Which cordless miter saw?

The makita is a fantastic unit I will say that. Dewalt are cheap at the depot now though but I think the price I see (300 vacinity) may be without batteries.

Modifications to the HF 4 and 5 drawer service carts - what changes have you made?

I have not had any trouble with the casters on mine and I've kicked the snot out of it and it was in a truck/trailer for most of its life. I will however say the bottom plate on mine is starting to bend from the load and abuse it's taken over the years and the wheels track like **** when it's...

    Why become a mechanic?

Consider facilities maintanance on a professional level, there's big bucks in corporate and industrial facilities maintanance today, someone with a good mechanical knowledge, hvac experience, and a little bit of home brew engineer in them can really shine in this career. Also many of the guys...

    Festool Dust Extractor

Dust collector and shop Vacs are kind of two different demons, while shop Vacs can be hooked to tools to provide dust collection dust collectors are made to do that and are infinitely better at it.

    Refurbished Power Tools

Alot of refurbished kits come with new batteries. Otherwise buy the bare tools I have many in service and have for many years. I remember a couple times having a tool die on the job and thinking it must have been been a refurbished unit only to find out it was new, or a refurbished I bought 10...

    Good torque wrench brand

Have several precision instruments units that I love but I also have a kobalt from lowes (don't like kobalt tools) that I use as a loaner when people ask me to borrow one (worst this you can ever do, never let anyone borrow the torque wrench you use) and it's a nice unit. Held up well and I...

Cordless alternative to an air body saw

Aren't air body saws also like 10 times as fast as the hackzalls of the world?

About to become heavily invested in cordless tools. Leaning towards Makita. ?'s

I have both lxt and m12/m18. I was a diehard makita guy. I ordered my 3/8 right angle makita impact from Japan before they ever even sold one here. (Cost me like $800) and I don't regret it as it's hands down one of the best tools I own even though it doesn't ratchet and doesn't have a snot load...

Stubbys - To Ratchet or Not to Rachet

Also I use gearwrench for all my wrenches as I've had no quality issues and my tools are mine not my employers, though I'm well compensated I don't feel like spending ridiculous money where I don't need to.

Stubbys - To Ratchet or Not to Rachet

Get zero offset ratcheting stubby wrenches and a set of non-ratcheting stubbies to start. The two different offsets and the two different head sizes will serve you well and you may find yourself wanting to get offset ratcheting stubbies later. I work on industrial machinery and this combo has...

FEIN 18v Brushless Drill (ASCM 18 QX)

    Best 3/8" cordless impact?

I'd stick with the IR as well. I see guys at the local shop using them and they seem to really love them. I'm a milwaukee/makita guy myself but remember the IR lineup still has that cordless angle impact and powerful ratchets to expand with in the future.

    Ramset - Trigger vs Hammer

I've never used the cobra units but I say go ramset. Theyre all effectively the same I just never liked how the grip can slide off on the others after years of use Edit. I'm an idiot my ramset models are cobras. Lol. Thats the route I'd go.
