What do you mean by open throat?

New here. But I thought I would share a couple of my wrenches. I have yet to see another one like the 10” I’ve got. Note it says forged alloy but doesn’t bear the crestoloy stamping. Any thoughts on the age of it? I use it every day doing heavy commercial hvac. The 4 inches I just picked up...
