    Old Craftsman Chainsaw Find

It actually has a solid state ignition according to the label on top. Thanks! I bet it'll still take 16:1, at least it won't damage it like it would if I just used 50:1

    Old Craftsman Chainsaw Find

Got this chainsaw in an estate sale lot, has the all aluminum body except for the handguard. From the model number it's a Poulan. It's a 358.358850 I don't know exactly how old this is, but Sears doesn't have a user manual available for it. So, does anybody know the oil gas mix for this? 32:1?

    Drill press table 2.75" column

Looking for a drill press table for my rockwell drill press . Column is 2.75" I'd prefer one without a bunch of holes and I'd like one that's an old American made one, doesn't have to be too old, press is from '83. Shoot me an offer, I'm in the Dallas area and I don't mind driving a few hours...

New collection: a taxonomy of hammers

You may want to move that lath hammer to the roofing category, as I understand it that was for installing the laths that go across the trusses in order to support the roof. Also, you can tell how old a building is, like an old barn, by the laths and how they were installed, it's in a book...

1983 Delta Rockwell 14" Drill Press

Wait, nope, titanium alloys are 20 ft/minute, that'd be almost like spring steel. Nevermind.

    rust removal

I'm almost certain they're just cheaper at the feed store. I actually used some from a plant nursery when I did it. The main issue with that stuff is the smell and mosquitos, but you can grab a mosquito dunk. Also, it drowned a couple of mice, but it's great for your lawn after the fact, just...

1983 Delta Rockwell 14" Drill Press

I was just thinking about this yesterday, I'm going to leave it unaltered and use it for liners and handle material, exclusively non ferrous. As seems to be the consensus here. Even better since I was wanting to switch to slip joints anyways. I'm going to keep an eye out for a bench top model...

1983 Delta Rockwell 14" Drill Press

Sorry, I didn't mean to sound like I was disregarding what you were saying. I'm just going to use this for small holes for handles and when I get there, slip joint knives. Which after what you were saying makes it sound even more promising, there's some materials that people have a hard time...

That'd be nice, I could spend a bit to get something with a wide range of options. About how much does that combo run?

1983 Delta Rockwell 14" Drill Press

Fortunately I have a motor just like that. https://ibb.co/0DhP08v I'll just need to double check that it works. That's great to hear, I'll just have to keep an eye out. Need to find some flea markets to go to.

1983 Delta Rockwell 14" Drill Press

Motor shaft is 1/2" and I think the spindle has a screw that sets it into the quill, which is about an inch. Ok, so now I have a different question. I got this because I was wanting to get back into knife making, meaning I'd be punching holes in handle material, liners, and unhardened steel...

https://ibb.co/HY3XQfP https://ibb.co/Gvwg7w2 What was it originally for? I'm good to drill wood and synthetics with it, correct?
