    Pittsburgh Wrenches

If you are a DIY guy then buy what works best for you and your budget. Husky, Kobalt, Pittsburgh pro are all great choices for a fix it yourself scenario. In a professional environment its is better to get the best quality hand tools you can afford. Snap on , MAC , Matco and Cornwell all make...

    I need help picking wrenches

Of the choices you have listed , hands down Wright wrightgrip wrenches. I owned the Gearwrench XL and honestly just not that great, open ends spread , inconsistent box end broaching. Carlyle is a great tool brand but for the price of their anti slip wrenches you can get a set of Wright...

FD+ vs Knuckle Buster open end comparison?

I have both sets in metric. I use the MAC knuckle savers for everyday work , they seem to engage fasteners quicker and just feel better to me. If it is really , really stuck and an open end is the only option the Snappys come out. I also prefer the snappy's on alignment work. Each type has its...

Craftsman impact screw drivers: are these new? anyone have them?

I have them and absolutely love them. They are made by Vessel of Japan for Craftsman. I use them professionally , they are simply so much better than a standard impact driver. I wish they would make them in Torx varieties though.

    Tool trucks signature items?

Fedwrench nailed it right on the head here. Only thing I would add is Snap on's new reversible ratcheting wrenches are amazing. I had to sell a kidney to get a metric set . Not every tool has to be off a truck , amazon and other venders can fill almost all of your tool needs .

New Duralast 72 Tooth Ratchet Breakdown

Ive got the 1/2 inch , use professionally. I have been surprised by the quality for the cost of this ratchet. I was getting something from Autozone ,saw it and said why not. I figured if it wasnt that good , I would use it at home. Found instead it hangs with the big boys nicely. Its got a good...

    Better than the CT761?

As a full time tech , I literally do not know how I lived without my CT761. The Milwaukee line is great too , but the snap on 3/8 is just such a great tool. Its power , ergonomics, and battery life is A+. Yeah its not brushless and maybe snap on will put out one soon, that doesnt stop the ct761...

    Best 1/2" Air Impact Wrench

I find it interesting no mention of the MAC awp050 or its proto cousin. It is an extremely well balanced gun. It is far quieter than an MG725 or IR , and has tons of torque as well. I dislike using any other 1/2 gun due to its amazing ergonomics.

    Snap On Tool Advice

I have both the 3/8th and 1/4 ratchets from SO , they are legit. If you already have the Milwaukee its not worth it to ditch the Milwaukee's. SO new reversible ratcheting wrenches are awesome, Ive got the metric set and they are worth every penny.

    Tool advice?

Amazon and Tooltopia are your friend. Brands such as SK, Wright, Proto and Williams are the best investments. These are very high quality tools at a fraction of the price of the truck brands. For starters , do not cheap out on you core hand tools. Wrenches , sockets , screwdriver and ratchets...

How many ratchets do you own?

Re: How many ratchets do you own ? Ive got 17 at work. I have more at home. The nice ratchets i.e truck brands are all at work , oddball brands at home. Surprisingly as a flat rate tech , ratchets just dont get used as much as you think. Most of the time its impact wrenches , air or cordless...

Buying my first 1/2" Impact Wrench

If this gun is mainly going to be used for lug nuts and the occasional spindle nut, suspension fastener skip the Snap on. I go with a IR231 , not the most powerful but it just works. Has about 600Ibs of torque , if oiled and greased will give many years of service.

    Who uses an air/electric ratchet?

They both have their places. I work flat rate and have both air and electric. Air is nice if you need a bit more power or are working on numerous tight fasteners of the same size. Electric shines in interior/dash or quick work under the hood in my opinion. My air ratchets are include a MAC 1/4...
