SK Tools Site back to selling tools.

Another one bites the dust. I haven't been on this site in a while, but I was curious about an SK update. I guess it's just Wright, (most) Proto, Channellock, Klein and the odd tool from the truck. I really liked SK. We're losing it. Since I started working on cars about a decade ago, so many...

Craftsman USA -- they make the grade

About two months ago I started working at a late-model garage. Before that, I had worked at a hot rod shop. I have a full set of metric Snap-on wrenches I brought to the garage. I figured SAE would be fairly rare and I wanted to keep my SK long-patterns at home. I just grabbed my full set of...

Flare nut and crowfoot flare wrenches

I have Snap-On, SK, Matco (USA) and Bonney -- complete sets in either Flare nut wrenches and/or crowsfeet. They all work very well. I do have Bonney crowsfeet in SAE and they are as good as everyone else says they are.

Flare nut and crowfoot flare wrenches

SK or used Snap-On. PB Blaster. It all comes down to your region. Old stock USA CMan will do the job if you're in the Southwest. I've lived in CA and TX. I only occasionally see Rust Belt cars or stuff from Corpus Christi. It's a totally different experience working on that stuff. You can spot...

Older Montgomery Ward Air Compressor; need to find a flywheel

Damn, man. Montgomery Wards Triple OG compressor. Worth the effort to get her going again.

    SK Tools up for sale?

Anyway, I hope for the best. SK was one of my major go-tos with tools. Love that COO.

    SK Tools up for sale?

Yeah, cuz the real economy is roaring right now. I'm sure it's just a coincidence. My dad sold the cabinet shop when he saw the writing on the wall. He was glad to get out. It seems like that's the case most of the time.

    SK Tools up for sale?

Unlike some folks on here, I've got no criticism of SK. They made excellent long-pattern wrenches at a good price and their sockets were 10/10. This is deeply unfortunate. I must have spent about $1,000 on SK tools in the last 3 years. I wanted them to succeed.

Q for the Auto Mechanics here: Best Oil Filter? and worst? and what does dealer use?

Installed a WIX filter on my '51 Ford yesterday. That's the brand I use unless they don't have it in stock.

Give me your thoughts on 1/2" ratchets

    Williams, Proto and SK.

Best inexpensive tools for automotive trade school

All of my Snap-on tools were purchased through a student-discount while taking auto classes or purchased used. I didn't care for our Snap-on driver, so I did buy sparingly off the Mac and Matco trucks. For stuff like flare-nut wrenches and ratchets, take advantage of this offer. SK, Proto and...

Thinking of Selling Full Set of USA Craftsman Wrenches

I have a 3/8" drive flex-head RHFT ratchet with 4 rebuild kits I bought when Sears shutdown. I don't care about selling it. Why anyone would pay the price they are for this stuff is dumb -- to the point where I don't want them to have it. Just keep it. Who cares? The whole point of CMan USA...

Where Were These Craftsman Sockets Made?

I liked those G2 sockets! The set I have is nice, has been a workhorse and you couldn't beat the price considering the COO.

Matco MT2779 $540 worth of Impact Wrench?

I would never purchase a Harbor Freight impact, but that's not to say they don't put out the torque. My coworker had the Mac 1/2" drive stubby impact. It was very impressive. Almost as much punch as his full-size Matco one. I'm using an IR 231c. Loud but gets the job done. I do have the...
