Depends. Working on my cb750 it's generally 3/8" all the way, but when removing the cylinder block only the thinner profile 1/4" sockets allow access to the stud bolts. 1/2" I use for swingarm bolts.

Fyi those words on the packaging that say "Made in China", those mean the contents are made in China. Don't criticize Sears because you couldn't be bothered to check out what you bought.
