Sorry it has been awhile! Since my last post, we have most of the garage finished up. I used an old spark plug storage cabinet to cover the fuse panel. I stripped it, painted it, and decorated it accordingly. We still need to buy an air compressor and then we will frame around the furnace and...
Thanks guys, we are having a blast doing this together. Lauren is the visionary and designer. I just do as I am told! LOL
Here are links to more on the 'stangs. We bought Eleanor as a heap in 2009. She has come a long way...
What would you like to see exactly? I would be happy to take more pictures.
The ceiling is drywalled, knocked down and painted.
Today we built our top shelf. We used 1x6s on the top and 1x3 for the face. Next we will paint and start on the window trim.
Thanks guys! We're done with the corrugated metal. Tomorrow we will work on the upper trim piece. I think we might add on to the ledge we initially planned. We're thinking about making a drop off piece that we can put rope lights behind.
Nice Dart Crazy68. We're starting to dabble into the...
Thank you Statikpulse, she has been a long term project for my wife and me.
Yesterday we installed our furring strip, XPS foam sheets, baseboard and J channel. Today we should be able to start cutting and hanging metal panels. We decided to furr the wall out 3/4" instead of 1/2" because we...
WOW, thank you for that write-up tcianci! Yes the bottom base is Azek. Here is what I have so far. This seems to be a bit of collective building (borrowing from all of your ideas!) Thank you all again. The foam board may be overkill, or unnecessary, but.. it seems like a nice way to help support...
Today I managed to hang the cabinets above the work bench. I am still unsure if I want to hang the final cabinet on the perpendicular wall, but we will give it some thought. Tomorrow I will sand and prime them, then paint. The cabinets are evenly spaced from the window although it does not look...
So after living in the arctic blast for the last day (-degree temps). I have thought more about whether I should be putting some sort of insulation or moisture barrier on the block before it is covered up. I asked around and got some mixed responses, but one of the ideas I brought out of the...
No insulation on the blocks.
I can't use 1" thick insulation on the block or else the bottom of my wall will stick out 1/2" more than the top. I see they sell they pink foam in 1/2". Should I use that and have it double as the furring strip, ditching the wood all together? :dunno:
I also see...
Thanks for the help and ideas guys. Kevin, i think I am with you on this. The only thing I do not want is to have exposed screws at the bottom of the panels. I was hoping for an almost-screw less look, with screws only under the shelf? Maybe this is a terrible idea and it will not mount the way...
Thank you all. At this time I am trying to determine how I want to secure my furring strips to the cement block wall. I must space out the baseboard 1/2" to provide adequate clearance of the brick above the block wall. I have exterior rated 1/2" plywood ripped to 3" strips that I planned to...
