Here are some various welds since that's what the topic is... but what I'm actually proud of is this tool box I built from scratch. Here are some pics of the beginning and then the finished product with a few various tools to give an idea of what goes where. What makes this build even more...
I concur with this, I carry a Streamlight Macrostream literally every single day in my back pocket next to my wallet. I'm an industrial maintenance tech so I not only carry it but use it daily as well. I have an assortment of flashlights that fit in that same size category for EDC; several O...
I mean that's fair and given the circumstances I understand. My buddy that ran a Matco truck told me the same thing... I along with others I'm sure appreciate the dealers like yourself that give everyone the benefit of the doubt. However the dealers I am talking about that I've had experience...
I am in agreement it is definitely possible that's what happened. However the only question i have is if they are in fact "Craftsman pliers, produced by Channellock for Craftsman" why is there no Craftsman branding on them whatsoever? The other possibility I could think of that could maybe...
So after doing some research here is what I've come up with.... they are channel-lock griplocks from the late 90's era. As for the grips they look like the older craftsman pliers grips so best theory I have is the previous owner for whatever reason put those grips on in place of the original...
Furthermore... to this comment all I can say is one that's a piss poor attitude for any "dealer" to have and terrible customer service. It shouldn't matter whether I spend ten thousand dollars or ten dollars I am a paying customer and it's literally that dealers job to provide me a service. And...
I don't have the time nor desire to argue with you, so all I will say is; OK sure, you know everything because every single tool truck company has the exact same process and does the exact same thing right? I guess you're right haha have a good day and hopefully lose the attitude keyboard...
No it's definitely not heat shrink... I am an industrial maintenance tech, so I have seen ALOT of heat shrink and typically work with it in some capacity almost daily repairing something or soldering up new switches and potentiometer on aluminum mig welding "guns"... whatever it is it seems like...
I've all but confirmed 100% that they are indeed Channellock Griplocks. I'm thinking the previous owner replaced the Channellock blue grips with whatever those black ones are. Here is a picture of a Griplock 12" version. With an identical "Made In USA" stamp. Mine are just a different time...
They definitely do look all but identical to Griplocks, and the "Made In USA" marking font looks almost identical to the "Made in USA" marking font on the channel-lock Speedgrip pliers. So I'm thinking they are likely channel lock, modern also...I just wonder how modern because they are...
I am in agreement, that they are more than likely modern, I just wasn't sure. As for the grips...they may appear cheap, and I agree they definitely do look like El cheapo harbor freight grips...however having them in hand I can and will say they are not cheap grips. They are relatively thin...
I wouldn't disagree...I mean they seem fairly new... or were just really really well taken care of or literally never used. I just assumed they were somewhat vintage because one; since 2000 onward made in usa tools are less and less common, and the ones that still exist(ed) are proud of being...
I have a pair of channel-lock style pliers I picked up over the weekend at a flea market/antique store. I can't for the life of me figure out who they are made by. There may possibly be more markings/stamping on the pliers underneath the "comfort grip" rubber, however I can't get them to come...
I've quite honestly had the opposite experience.... with 2 different SO dealers so it wasn't "just that dealer" both of them questioned me(interrogated is probably a more fitting term) on how I was using the tool when it broke putting emphasis on "if you were misusing/abusing the tool it's not...
It was mentioned to me I should post my modded tool cart on this thread as well as the original thread I posted on because I used "scrap" pieces of aluminum diamond plate that I obtained from the scrap bin at my work. I work at an industrial factory that builds aluminum trailers as an industrial...
