    Tools from the old world

To be honest, I didn't use any specific key words. I just search with words like socket wrench or ratchet (or in German Umschaltknarre, Ratsche or Knarrenkasten) and sometimes there are old tools in the list. It's just luck. And I'm sure there were some of these Polish sockets from time to time...

    Tools from the old world

Well, I guess I just got lucky :bounce: I've seen these sets, more or less complete, from time to time on eBay. I bought it, not for the socket wrench, but for the sockets itself. First, I'm not willing to spend a lot of bucks for new sockets from Gedore or Hazet if I don't need them...

Thx mate! But for now I cannot say if the conical style will give me trouble. If they do so, I still got my small 1/4" socket wrench set. Or maybe I just buy some extra sockets. Or use my box spanners :) BTW: and this is the CNC machining center I work with. With Heidenhain numerical...

Yes! At last I passed the final apprenticeship examination for the profession of precision machinist! Also got a new job and I am introduced on a CNC machining center for the next six months. :) And now some new, old tools: Not a beautiful, capitalistic, glossy, shiny tool! But strong like...

The Witte Bitcommander ratchet looks almost identical to my Polar 1/4" ratchet. Guess same factory from Taiwan? :willy_nil

Sehr lecker! The Bahco ratchets are the only ones not made in Europe, right? I need a 1/2" ratchet sometime and thinking of buying either Bahco or a used ratchet, like Acesa, and buy the sockets separately. I don't need Hazet or Stahwille, at most something for home, car, motorbike etc.

Argh, shame on me. I just "tested" this caliper right now (got it for free because it was sorted out some years ago and I never took a close look at it) and it is not soft, but extra hard! Looks like some kind of ceramic insert. There's a small hollow on one of the jaws, like it got abrasion...

Flashlight collection :ninja: A colleague at work got the same Duracell flashlight from me as a present for his trip to India. It survived all the exertions without flaws. A very old calculator ;) A timer switch Mahr digital caliper with some kind of ceramic, extra hard jaws...

I sent an eMail to the Polar guys and they told me, it's Sweden and Taiwan. But even then the tools are not ****, that's for sure. Their 8" adjustable wrench got almost no play, the ratchet is quite ok, same for the hex keys. I bought them because the german distributor abrogated the contract...
