Residential Lift Options for Service and Storage 10' Ceiling

Pick your lift and call the company for advice. I used a small local company that was recommended by the place I bought my lift from. I had the lift shipped to their place and they brought it to me, installed it and set it up. Also, I have a four post in a 10’ tall garage - but I work on and...

Wall mounted Garage Vacuums what do you have

The Intervac Garagevac has lasted me a bunch of years now. I like that it takes so little space and the stretch hose is crazy good. I bought it because it was US made and had a long warranty, not sure if thats still the case. https://www.intervacdesign.com/Vacuums/Garage/

    Flexible Shop

I agree that things need to be mobile and likely need good curtains. If structure is tall enough, build a partial second floor loft that leaves room to still shoot hoops. Loft can be storage or additional work space with work space below it - then half the building would still be wide open. A...

Garage size to hold 6 cars

If your site and budget easily accepts it, a 36’ wide x 48’ deep with three doors sounds like a no brainer to me. You could fit 6 crewcab 1/2 tons in there.

    Crazy garage graffiti in garage

Was really into the wall art and garage space, then the Voodoo Falcon stole my soul.

Garage door and window alarm options?

Dont know if this setup would make you feel better or work for you, but for $200 from Wyze directly you can get the security hub, 2 cameras, 3 entry sensors, 2 motion sensors and a wireless keypad. That also includes 12 months of security monitoring. I just have 1 of the Wyze cameras to try...

    Tekton is ridiculous...

Just to pile on about their wildly good customer service: My 1/2” 250# torque wrench started skipping over 150#, so I sent a request on their site a little after 8:00pm and got a reply email 10 minutes later that it was taken care of and replacement was on the way. They sent a FedEx tracking...

    Shop heater for remote cabin

Electric heat to supplement the wood stove sounds like the easiest thing to do and probably what I would do. If by some wild chance you have internet at the cabin, then add a t-stat with remote capability and the place can be pre-heated when you arrive.

House with cool garage for sale near me

Jeez, someone built their dream place and now they are leaving it behind for some reason? That would **** huge for me, hopefully owner is moving by choice and not because life fell apart somehow. A lot of cool details in that garage and house and seeing the blast cabinet in the garage got me...

    Best Inexpensive Welder

Very happy with the Hobart Handler 100 and for about $225 shipped and with the long warranty I think it is a deal. Have had great luck with Hobart’s E71T-11 wire and the Inetub E71T-GS. The .035 seems to burn a little more consistently than the .030 stuff - at least for me.

Tools you should have bought long ago but didn't

A real air compressor. Still getting by with a portable that just barely cuts it.

Mid rise scissor lift vs Four post lift

A four post like the Bendpak HD-9 should fit fine with your 9’ ceilings but it sounds like the scissor lift might be better for you.

    Beginner Welder

I like that you can get the dual voltage 190 and a spool gun for less than the price of the 210. Seems like a good option to me if you decide to go with Hobart. Heck for auto work in my home garage, the refurb 140 from Hobart for $450 seems like a deal too.

    tig welder recommendation

Been looking at the AHP 203 and Vulcan 205. I don’t need it for a while, but those are two I’ve been wanting. No idea which one would be better for me yet though.

    Best Budget Drill Press?

I picked up a Wen 4212 a couple years ago and it has worked really well for me - the lever operated variable speed makes it simple to change speeds and that was the main reason I chose it. Would buy it again.
