Hi there,
Been a while. I’m now about to embark on producing a split nut kit for the Reed 106. It turns out it is slightly smaller than the 4C split nut.
Following that at some point will be the split nut kit for a Reed 3C if i ever get the sample beaten out of the vise.

Thanks for reminding me of that idea... There have been a few projects machining or brass casting them, none of which are current I think.
I have a few collars. I’m looking into foundries on this side of the border that do small runs, but they’re rare. I have one in mind on the US side...
Well thanks! I had a goal of making available a rare part in inventory just to see what would happen. That collar is the first. I may take you up on that offer as I was thinking about doing the 3C collar next summer.
The next rare part is the upsetting block for Greenfield type upsetting vises...
The Reed 4C split nut kit is now available.
It consists of the split nut, the thrust washer, and two point set screws (one spare). $75 USD per kit, inquire within.

Well the Reed 4C split nut project has returned the prototype.
The machinist did a great job, fits both 4Cs I have. The only difference is the screw capture slots are machined round rather than V shaped to save on machining. A simple matter to drill a V point into the selected round once...
Although Parker went to the World’s Fair in Philadelphia and Chicago, I doubt this model ever went there because it’s a modern design. They went to the Eastern States Exposition in 1971... which makes more sense.
The impractical size of this model leads me to :pimpflash estimate :see: a price of...
Hi, I am having the Reed 4C / 106 / 206 split nut batch replicated. Unit cost target is $75.
Edit: I’m hearing some intel that there are slightly different ODs, so I’ll look into that.
The first prototype is underway.
