I have a 50+ year old unbranded 12 oz ball peen hammer from my father’s tool box. As a kid, I can remember hammering things that should not be hammered with a ball peen hammer.
The face has marks (probably from hammering nails)
The face is also mushroomed over on the edges bs having a...
Yah… Despite the visual of the paint, it would be great to find some New Old Stock P & C handles.
Outside of such a stroke of luck, WHERE is the best place to get a quality Hickory Hammer handle?
Thank You…
The “paint” on the bottom of handle is OEM Factory… It sure takes away from natural beauty of a Hickory Handle.
I wonder what P&C thought they were gaining?
Hi… I picked up a P & C 8624 Ball Peen Hammer at an Estate Sale. The handle is broken. I will clean up the head and replace the handle with a nice piece of hickory.
The Hammer dates to 1953 showing the P&C trademark inside the diamond with the small “r” outside the diamond. The cracked...
Yes to presumption… I have been working on this a long time.
Based upon input…The Ads… The Patent Info… The Logo and random use of logos… Direct Contact to Kennedy… The use of Corbin Hasps and Locks… The box without the corner support brackets… The Leather Handle and the Half Moon shape of...
Or before the patent was “pending”…
Anyone know when the Model 621 went out of production?
On a side note, I now have Working Corbin Factory Keys and a restored - Re-Skinned Leather Handle…
Thanks for help

Nope.. Missed that one. This puts the Kennedy Kit 600 series in production as far back as 1923.
The question becomes… When or did Kennedy ever put a reference to “patented” on the logo under the 600 series?
Thank you
... and by the way... I contacted Kennedy sending pics, etc. A very fast response from Kennedy said that the 621 box was produced on or after 1930. However, I don't believe that correct. I did find a Print Ad I labeled as being from 1925 from an eBay seller advertising the 600 series boxes...
Yep... Do we think they ever used the logo without the reference to patent BEFORE the patent was issued or pending. The original owner of the 621 box was born approximately 1905... As a young man in his 20's, the date of the box could be 1925 or beyond. He was a big fisherman... The 1916...
