I agree this is fairly close, at least as far as a photo can tell me. Aged finish, is difficult to match because of UV exposer and the solvent based finishes reacting with the oils in the wood create sutble nuances not easily reproduced. Always the best way. Takes time, and resources but...

I really like those drawings. Very nice. You need a Rotex and some 320 grit paper to avoid getting those pigs tails on your drawer fronts. Tim

I think you might be happier with the look of a coat or 2 of Conversion Varnish or even a couple coats of a good quality polyurethane over some shellac. That's just a guess. Formica is OK, and it's a good, fast solution which is why it's used, but I think the birch ply looks great with a clear...

It does get easier, but it's still a chore. The MFK 700 makes it easy and fun to trim though. Looks really good.

Sorry, I know the feeling. I did try to let you know... You could use a zero protrusion hinge with a horizontal mounting plate vs. a cruciform plate. A little more expensive than the standard hinge but it should save a bunch of work and time. Yup that grain looks great! Tim

Looks good, and I like the Ikea solution. That laundry shoot is great. Unlikely...:o There's always a problem we dream up for which there is a tool. If you are going to make doors for those Ikea units, and are going to use non-Ikea euro hinges remember the offset is different (27mm) than other...

Ya, the 4mm are better, but I think you used too many Dominos. I think a biscuit joiner is better for this type of joint. Also, use the Collins prep Ply router bit on one side. When you clamp the two panels together only the veneer sides touch the opposing face, compress slightly which closes...

Gregor Garage door looks great, and those bikes look awesome in there, and I don't even have one. ...are you planning to do anything with that front door? I am not well versed in Mid Century modern but I don't think it fits... Thanks for the great photo updates. Tim

When applying Laminate to doors or drawer fronts etc. you apply a backing panel of HPL (high pressure laminate) to balance the panel, otherwise it will warp again. Most HPL manufacturers make backers specifically for this purpose when laminate is applied to doors, but you can use what you have...

Gregor: I have one, (TK matic - green) but I don't use it. I like it, it's very well made. If you are interested let me know and I can send you some pics. I've had it for over 30 years so it has some wear. I had it in the shop, but I much prefer a good old wooden "H" pencil like Gary Katz...
