    Waterloo blast cabinet

Thanks for that info! I’m ordering this https://www.oneida-air.com/heavy-duty-dust-deputy-2-inch-deluxe-cyclone-kit And I’m going to use my 6.5hp craftsman with a hepa and a shopvac bag as you suggested.

    Waterloo blast cabinet

I guess my real question is –do I need a vac system with a blower? Or just a cyclone of sorts and a collection bag? I’ve read have a blower AND a vac mess with the evacuation pressures.

    Waterloo blast cabinet

After looking closer, the tag on my fan says “Swirlwind High-performance blower”. Now I’m starting to question my assumption that it is factory.

    Waterloo blast cabinet

I picked up a used Waterloo blast cabinet, complete with a small cartridge looking water separator and foot pedal. As far as I know, it’s all original, including the gun. The tip looks to be in good shape. I’ve been reading the blasting resource thread and I’ve got information overload. I know I...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Cut the floor and prepped it for a new slab for a 2 post lift.

    145” 2 post with 144” ceiling height

It looks like we’re going to have to pour new pads/piers and box up into the trusses. Not a big deal, just a little more work and a little more money. I had my contractor/best friend out to look things over and we went through all the requirements from the manufacturer and it looks pretty...

    145” 2 post with 144” ceiling height

Has anyone erected a 145” 2 post in a shop with 144” ceiling? I’ve got a few options. Pour two piers an inch less than surrounding floor. This may pose a problem with bottom of lift arm clearance to the floor. I’m not sure. The other option is to place it evenly between two trusses and raise...

Two post lift: wide or narrow configuration?

With your Megacab on that lift, how much height is there from floor to the bottom of the frame?

    Craftsman tools disappearing?

Ironically, I just heard about the True Value bankruptcy from the teller at Ace today. . lol

    Craftsman tools disappearing?

I’d given that some thought as well; warranty. Even though I’ve never enjoyed using it, it’s no good if you can’t find a place that sells the brand.

    Craftsman tools disappearing?

That’s what I thought. I’m a tool guy and Cresent wasn’t even on my radar for sockets and wrenches.

    Craftsman tools disappearing?

Just out of high school (‘89) I bought a “mid size” tool set 1/4-1/2 drive sockets, ratchets, wrenches, etc., along with a top and bottom box. What a great way to establish some credit on the old Sears card with a new set of tools. Since then, I’ve added thousands of dollars in other Craftsman...

Valve cover powder coat strip and recover project

Got it done and it turned out really good. Huge thanks to CudaChick1968 for sage advice. While at first the casting looked really good after sanding all the powder coat off, some pits were exposed after off gassing and blasting. Not terrible, but noticeable. We bought an Eastwood gun and then...

Valve cover powder coat strip and recover project

I’m wanting to strip and re-coat a valve cover for my son’s truck. Ive read that it’s magnesium. I’m looking for a cost effective method (chemical?) to strip the powder coat off with out destroying the base material. I’ll probably buy an entry level powder coating gun. I’ve watched a few ytube...
