    Filling the Craftsman void?

I am not a pro, but most of my work is auto and farm related. Most of my new purchases have been Gearwrench-- Advance Auto has the full selection "tool wall" 2 miles away from me. I have a 255pc Craftsman set in the garage from 2004. It's been a great set of USA tools. I try to keep the...

    GearWrench 84t ratchets - disappointing

Really......there are a shitload of positive posts on GJ about these ratchets. It's well established that the Matco 88, Craftsman Premium, Gearwrench 84 and Armstrongs are all the same design and work just fine.

    Boycott Autozone

There are about 4 Advance stores within 10 miles from that Autozone. I would go across the street and get a job from them, Turn the PR spin positive for their side. Advance Auto is Virginia based and has got to be paying attention.

Slab foudation cracking and coming up! PICS

I don't think the pine is the culprit, they usually have a large taproot going down rather than spreading out. My feeling is that it is a combination of a bad mix of concrete, lack of re-bar, poor workmanship, and poor soils. House was probably built on substandard fill that was not compacted...

    John Deere Lt150

I've got an LT150. If you are going to work it, make sure it is a manual transaxle. The hydostatics are a weak spot. I got mine used. The deck had a bad vibration, so I picked up another used one that had a dead hydro transaxle. I swapped the decks and found a replacement transaxle. Was...

Craftsman Universal 3/8" ratchet. PIC HEAVY

The head of the Napa ratchet looks similar to a Matco or Gearwrench ratchet head, which are also Danaher lines. The triangular plate opening is a good giveaway. I wonder if the guts of a Matco 88 would fit. Also, the Craftsman Premium rats are very similar. I think there was a post here...

    Craftsman box ID help

My father has a similar box dating from the mid-sixties. The logo is different. I would like to restore it. The latches are busted. Does anyone have a good source for replacement latches? Btw, I think they made that style of box for ages with different logos and trays. Recently, I saw old...

Isn't it about time the world decided to go all metric or imperial..?

As a Land Surveyor, I look at this in a different perspective. Every parcel of land in the United States had been laid out and measured using a foot based system. Excepting a few states that used the Spanish vara, land records from before the inception of the county are all in feet. Roads...
