    Green Hinges

I had rivets on my brand new door tracks and made the installer drill them out and put proper bolts in. This made the Green Hinges work out really well.

    Insulating Block Walls

Did you just tapcon the furring strips into the block? That seems like a ton of work. I'm about to do the outside of my block building, putting up LP Smartside 10'x4'x3/8" T1-11 panels and trying to figure out a strategy for attaching furring, sheathing and/or insulation, and T1-11 panels.

    Insulating Block Walls

I've used InsoFast which has both 2" foam and plastic studs at 16 OC. It worked great and was really easy. I put LP Smartside T1-11 4x10'x3/8" panels up over the InsoFast. See my post HERE

    Garage slatwall and cabinetry woes

I am looking at StoreWall, which is pvc slatwall, for my new garage. The hooks also have a nice camlock mechanism. Pricey stuff, but very well made. www.storewall.com

    Shop Insulation....Cinder Block Wall

I used InsoFast (R10 on mine and am very happy with it. Took me about a day and a half by myself. Studs are plastic and they just glue on the wall. Lightweight and easy to do in one shot. www.insofast.com http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?p=4499867&highlight=insofast#post4499867

    LS3 Swapped 528i BMW

What a great project! I've had some nice ones - an M5, couple of M3's, and a 2000 E39 540i Sport 6-speed. It was by far the best overall car I've ever owned, wish I still had it. I can't imagine what it'd be like with an LS3 and the 528i's steering/suspension setup, but it should be big fun!

    In so fast insulation

I did my block garage with it and couldn't be happier. Very easy to work with, electrical channels built in, lightweight, easy to cut and place. I did three 10' high walls of a 30x30 by myself in a couple days. I've posted pictures in a few threads here, so just do a search.

    Insulation concrete block Garage

I used InsoFast panels on mine and am very happy with the installation. They can be used on both inside and outside if you choose to. There is a lot of good info for planning on their website. These guys came from the ICF industry, trying to build a better mousetrap. www.insofast.com

Heavy duty pull down attic stairs for 12'+ ceiling height

My floor to top of ceiling deck height is 11'-9" so I went through the same process, considered the Rainbow but couldn't make it fit in the existing opening. There just weren't many available. I ordered a Werner AH2512 aluminum model from Home Depot because they had the lowest price by a ton...

New Garage Build Sound Deadening/Blocking Ideas

There is an incredible amount of good advice and articles on the Soundproofing Company web site HERE. Probably the most important thing to pay attention to is STC or sound transmission. Anything with a hard connection (such as drywall nailed directly to studs) will transmit sound directly from...

New garage slab with latex paint overspray, spots, drips

Thanks everyone for your suggestions, lots of good information here! This garage will be used primarily for parking our 2 cars, getting them out of the harsher winters we seem to be having. Fortunately, I have another heated building for working on the toys and anything more serious. If I go...

New garage slab with latex paint overspray, spots, drips

We have a new 24 x 26 stick framed attached garage and breezeway addition that is just getting finished up, been underway since March. The contractor installed helical pilings with a steel/concrete grade beam down the middle, poured footings and the inside slab in early April when it was still...

    Garage Door Size & Source.....thinking 16x8

I have an 18x8' CHI Carriage House style door, 2" stamped steel panels, sprayed in urethane foam R16.5, on our new 2c garage (~$1600 installed). I added nylon rollers and a set of The Green Hinges (Alliance Partner here) to keep it sealing tight in the wind. The extra 2' of width makes a big...
