GEC Tidiote 340223 Camel Back Congress Pocket Knife

I bought this knife at the GEC store in Titusville in 2024. It is marked "S" for store or second. It is in new condition. I have not carried, used, or sharpened the knife. The pull is fairly strong on both blades. Not a nail breaker, but pretty firm. They both have a firm half stop...

    Small unmarked anvil question

Thanks for the info, guys. Here's another picture. It's definitely cast. I can see the parting line, and it goes all the way up to the flat surface. So the surface is cast too. It's definitely not hollow. I tried a 3/4" ball bearing drop from about 12". It rebounded about 4". It's fine...

    Small unmarked anvil question

You might be right, four cycle. I smeared a little paint stripper on the sides last night, hoping to reveal a decal or something under the paint. No luck.

    Small unmarked anvil question

I picked up this little anvil at an estate sale recently. It only weighs 21 lb. No markings on it that I can see. I was hoping it wasn't imported junk. Everything at the sale was old and quality tools and machines, so I took a chance on the little anvil. I realize it's too small to do...

    Show Your Heritage Logo Love

Thanks. Actually it was a mess when I bought it. Here's a picture from the auction site. The stand was falling apart; that's a house jack holding up the top of it. No switch. Gearbox needed grease repacked. Blades about as sharp as a butter knife.

Picked up this Parks/Craftsman planer a while back. Not a toy. I think it's over 300 lb. The repulsion induction motor is a serious hunk too.

2025 Garage Sale Thread (14th Annual)

I picked up this Gerstner chest last week at an estate sale. Not really a "you ****" price, but considering it's over 100 years old, more than fair I think. It's a model 41, made between 1919 and 1921. The key is still present and it works. I have a few Gerstners, but this is the oldest by far.

    The VISES of Garage Journal

I picked up this little guy last week at an estate sale. All the tools were priced stupid high, like a craftsman #4 plane for $50. No price on the vise or workbench, so I asked the lady about the vise. She said how about $20? Jaws are only 2 1/2". It swivels and rotates very smoothly. I'm...

1920-60s DELTA / ROCKWELL picture thread - Post your Delta!

No. There was a belt/disc sander (just to the right of the table saw) The guy who bought it picked up the belt cover and the tilting table for it. They also had a 70s or 80s era Unisaw, but it was about double the price I was willing to pay.

1920-60s DELTA / ROCKWELL picture thread - Post your Delta!

An estate sale popped up last week with a pretty extensive workshop. They posted pictures and a youtube video of the shop contents. I spotted a Delta tenoning jig in the video. No mention of it in the other pictures. The guy running the sale was totally clueless about tools. Most things...

Oil-less air compressor without a tank???

Thanks for the info, guys. I'll try it out next time I air my tires. Might be handier than waiting for my big compressor to get up to pressure.

Oil-less air compressor without a tank???

I bought this yesterday at an estate sale. I actually thought it was a vacuum pump, until I got home and looked it over. It runs okay and puts out air, but I've never seen a compressor without a tank. How is it used? Connect it to a separate tank? Or just fill your tires slowly? It's got...
