Romex to stranded for a NEMA 5-15 plug

My question is whether I can wire nut solid romex to stranded to achieve a NEMA 5-15 plug? Here is my scenario: I have a lamp post on my lawn. It is controlled by a photocell that is supplied by romex. This romex has a junction box in my garage where it connects with the household circuit...

    Looking for HILTI TZ2 3/8 x 5 Stainless

Thanks for the suggestions. I checked both and found comparable to the HILTI product. But my preference is with HILTI. Just don’t need a box of 50 and can‘t rationalize the $$$ for three bolts.

    Photocell and HID Ballast

Thank you kind gentlemen. I am in your debt. With the benefit of your explanation I’m coming to understand that the photocell is intended to be mounted above the ballast. I am intending to use this ballast to retrofit an HPS lamp to MH. In the existing HPS installation the ballast is...

Colleagues: I have a Metal Halide ballast that I need to control with a photocell. The wiring diagram from Advance, the ballast manufacturer, directs the installation of the photocell on the output of the ballast, just before the bulb. It does not direct the installation of the photocell on...

Help Please - Exterior Mounting Plate Deformed by Weight of Fixture

I bought the cover at Home Depot. It is (was) a pretty rigid metal. To the best of my knowledge the lamp manufacturer doesn’t offer a cover. The pancake is a galvanized metal. It seems to be holding up. A cast aluminum one like you posted would be great if I could mount it from behind the...

Help Please - Exterior Mounting Plate Deformed by Weight of Fixture

Thank you for your response. I’ve used something like the second option pictured in your post. Except that it has only one NPT outlet in the center. The pancake has remained relatively intact. But the cover has been deformed by the leveraged mass of the fixture and has pulled about an inch...
