    The VISES of Garage Journal

I recently picked up one of the later model Reed vises i believe it to be a 506? Its in very good condition with most of the original paint. I'm trying to determine when it was produced and associated specs. Were these the ones produced by Columbian? If so, would the castings be hollow?

I recently picked up some Snap On 5/8" drive impact sockets and this one I am trying to date. The marking does not seem to correspond with the date code chart. Any help would be appreciated.

    Morgan 345 Vise Won't Open

Not sure about the set up on the Morgan vise as I cant see the front or under the dynamic slide, most likely you are missing the retaining collar and associated set screw that would apply pressure to the dynamic jaw when the screw is turned.
