    Garage trusses and storage

When I built my garage I went back to the truss manufacturer and asked what I could do to strengthen my trusses. I got about 15-20 % increase load capacity by running a 12 foot 2x6 along the 24 foot bottom plate. I just sistered them up and nailed them in. If you can get to the trusses...

    Guys need some ebay advice!!!

I do quite a bit of ebay selling, about 300 items a month. Every once in a while you get a ***** like this. First of all I would imagine that this guy will never be happy, so I wouldnt count on him removing any feedback. Its not that big of a deal to have 1 negetive feedback. I think after a...

    Craftsman 52" 23 drawer top/bottom combo 50% off

This looks like an interesting deal. I like the idea of a wide toolbox. I have two of the standard width craftsman ball bearing boxes now. I am thinking of selling them and getting one large box. What do you guys think of this box compared to the montezuma boxes on strictlytoolboxes.com

    Floor for Loft Area?

I have a 11 x 30 upstairs loft area in my garage and I used indoor outdoor carpet from home depot. It is a very thin carpet and holds up to alot of abuse. It is fairly easy to install, durable, cheap, and looks great.

    High gloss top coat

I poured small amounts on the floor and then rolled it out. Maybee if you have a heavy broadcast the clear is being sucked up by voids made by the flakes. Were the flakes in the color coat or were they sticking up. I used 2 1/4 gallons on 700 sq ft. and had about a quart left over when I was...

    High gloss top coat

It looks to me that you didnt put the clear on thick enough. I just used that clear coat and it is very shiny. It can be hard to see the material when you put it down because the color coat is also very shinny. It you get the lighting right and look at it at the right angle you will more...

    Etching for epoxy

I did mine 3 x with a 1 to 1 mix of muriatic acid. It should definatly change the feel of you cement. I think they say like 80-100 grit sand paper or something like that. I used 5 gallons of acid for 700 square ft.

    Performance Epoxy -Epoxy coat project!

Yes, an extra set of hands definately is nice. I did it solo. I think that it is important for everyone to understand that eventhough you need to work at a good pace, the epoxy will stay wet for quite a while. Especially if you pour it on the floor as soon as its mixed. I think that if I...

    Performance Epoxy -Epoxy coat project!

Here are a few pics of my floor with the Norkan epoxy and clear. Overall the floor went down very well. As with anything that is a first time project I had a few issues. Mostly with the fleck tossing. Most of it went down well as I researched the best way to do it. I was planning on flaking...

    Performance Epoxy -Epoxy coat project!

I used a 18" 3/8 nap roller and poured the clear coat on the floor in small amounts and then spread it out with the roller. I saw that on a youtube vidio and it worked well. I mixed it in a 5 gallon bucket. The directions said to mix it a low speed as to not allow bubbles. I am not sure...

    Performance Epoxy -Epoxy coat project!

I have been following this post since the begining and I cant believe the mess the performance epoxy got you in. I was going to buy from them, but they wanted a commercial address. I called asking if I could pick it up at the tucking depot. I called them with that question 2 times and 2 times...

    Finishing my garage

Nice garage. What did you use to coat the stemwall/ the part of the foundation that you can see in the garage. It looks to be different than the floor. Looks good. I am doing an epoxy floor on my garage and I am debating what I should do about the stem wall. I understand they take up alot...

    When to coat stemwall

Thanks for the advice. I am starting to lean towards doing it all at once. Will the stem wall dry faster than the floor? I was planning on flaking the whole floor after the material was spread. It is a 720 sq ft. floor. Would it be better to do a small area and then flake it and then move...

    When to coat stemwall

I have read many posts on epoxycoating garage floors on this forum. I am planning on doing my garage. My question is when should I coat the stem wall? Before I do the floor or at the same time. The stemwall is just 4x6 inches. The problem with doing it the same time is I am afraid that I...
