How do you keep your impact sockets

My impact sockets (1/2, 3/8 and 1/4) are all standing up on their own shallow/deep combo harbor freight trays like all of my chrome sockets. My impact swivels are a little thick and don't fit well on the trays, so they are standing up on craftsman composite rails. I like those because they don't...

Opinion: Matco 4s VS. Mac techseries

In terms of visual appeal, the Mac box wins hands down. That thing is just ****! Like others have said, I think both boxes are about the same in terms of build quality. I've never been a huge fan of Matco, I prefer Snap-on and Mac tools. I currently have a Snap-on KRA2411 top and bottom box, but...

    My Harbor Freight Investment

:+1: John, I've read this entire thread. I've also watched all of your vids on youtube and as stated above, I think it would be cool if you could give us an update video if you can find the time. I think it's awesome how you came from all HF to that killer Mac box and tools (I'm a Mac fan...

    Snap on Classic 78

I bought a Classic 78 when I was just starting out back in 2007 at a Ford dealership as an apprentice. The box served me well until just recently when I begun to run out of space. Two weeks ago I bought the 10 drawer matching top chest for it. Now I have to work on filling that up lol.

    Borrowing tools at the shop...

I think what everyone else said is basically spot on. Just be respectful of his tools, and always return them clean and promptly when you're done using them. Be sure to thank him and also let him know your own tool set is already on order and should be arriving soon.

    Let's talk about diagnostic tools

I'm an auto technician for a major rental car company. We have the factory scan tool/software for GM, Ford, Chrysler/Dodge, Toyota, and Nissan. I've had experience with the Ford IDS as I was a technician at a Ford dealer, but I've learned to utilize all of the other scan tools. All relatively...

Fractional Inch Tools - Who Needs 'Em?

I'm an auto technician for a major rental car company so I only work on vehicles from the current model year or previous model year, as they sell the purchased vehicles or turn in the leased vehicles before they get old or too high of mileage. I very rarely reach for an SAE socket or wrench...
