    Radial arm saw obsolescence/repurposing?

1978 8th grade shop class. Teacher was hard @$$ about everything, especially safety (Which he should have been with us all acting stupid while going through puperty). We had a Rockwell Delta RAS. During a safety lesson at the beginning of the semester he said we could only use the RAS if we...

How many feel you're in a league of your own in your hood?

Re: How many feel your in a league of your own in your hood? I'm not trying to bash anyone, and sorry if it came across that way. It just seems that there is either little interest or little time anymore for the trades, and I get it to some degree. I have 60 hr a week desk job too. It just...

How many feel you're in a league of your own in your hood?

Re: How many feel your in a league of your own in your hood? No kids of my own, but have a ten year old step son. He has zero interest in building anything other than Legos or Mine craft worlds. He got a model of an airplane for smash from our visit to an Air Force museum and a pretty nice...

    Drill bit oraganization

I have an old tackle box I keep mine in, plus a new set of Milwaukee in a separate holder. I mostly have the tackle box set up because I did a lot of finish work, plumbing and light electrical work at other peoples properties, and wanted an easy way to transport my tools. The tackle box has...

    Prybar storage container

Looking at the description on the Sears website, there are only overall box dimensions listed, no mention of the distance from the cover to the landing that the tool rests on. Unless you have experience with this box, you would have no way to know what pry bar handle length would fit under the...

Things to ask asphalt driveway contractor?

Assuming the original driveway was put over 4" of compacted gravel, the OP would need to have it removed then dug deeper to get a 12" base. That would be a bout 75 cubic yards of burden removal, or about 5-6 dump truckloads. Here in Minnesota with a fair amount of winter frost heave, I don't...

    Socket Set Size Charts

Nice work on this. I am organizing my tools in a new box and deciding what socket organizers to use. I want to make sure I have all the sizes covered. I also know that I have missing sizes in different ratchet size and point configuration. I was looking for exactly what have created so I can...

Garage Exhaust venting. What to do!

For car exhaust just get a couple of of 3" corrugated landscape drain pipes. Put on your exhaust tips and vent out under the garage door. Add couplers and additional lengths as needed. You could get Y or T connector if want it like in the quoted post.
