Thanks, I will try that. I had the feeling that maybe the original factory paint was pretty durable. Unfortunately the second coat of paint on these could be 20 years old also.

I have a few SK tool boxes/ratchets sets that have been spray painted over the original textured green. I would like to try removing only the top coat-realizing that the original paint isn't going to be great. Got any ideas how to remove one and not the original? I wish someone had some paint...

My sister has a house with the same poor design. When installing new roof, they filled it in and it looks and works so much better, also cured the downspout draining to sidewalk-it gets cold here.

Got to love those old Porter Cable/Rockwell routers, along with the other tools. So what if they have a tail, they will outlast many battery tools.

Anyone have an idea how to refill one of the vials on one of these old stanley's? I have a 12 inch one that has a dry vial. Anyone every refill one? Process please.

There are a lot of "vices" that are worse having than that.

I've found the "split dies" handy to use on damaged threads. Install them on the good part and work towards the bad end.

My college had one like that, instructor was very set in his ways, and liked to express his views. One rule was you were not allowed to leave a machine with it moving. Those sanders took maybe five minutes to stop rotating. Gave us a good excuse to avoid the sander.

How come none of the electric blowers have a vacuum attachment like the gas and corded electric models used to?

I would apply a couple of thinned coats of poly to seal it from future issues.
