    Generator connection to home

It is a 240v cord as well.

    Generator connection to home

I saw that as well, but the HD title says 120V. Wonder if that is just their lack of 240v info, or if the Chinese cord really only does have 120v rated insulation.

    Generator connection to home

Of course, I'd never do that.

    Generator connection to home

It would work, but possibly not compliant with code.

Grid tie solar. Did you make it thru the winter? Net metering

Never do here, but we are in MI. Can get about 10 months of coverage though. Utility limits array size if grid-tied. Yuck.

Pressure Gauge for Well Water in House

If that gauge is indoors, I'd put a valve between it and the pipe. Then just open the valve when you want to see the pressure. Keep valve closed otherwise. Just my indoor practice of such. A gauge can let go at any point.

Pump down mini split and after

Do the pump-down procedure, vac the line set(s) for a while to remove any moisture once re-installed, and it should be fine.

    torpedo heater doesn't stay running

I'm usually of the type to disassemble, investigate, and repair things until a device is simply cracked in half and can't go any further. I've been limping along my torpedo heater. She's smelly, and I thought that is just how they all are. Neighbors bought a brand new, used it once, then gave...

Looking for Recommendations for (semi) Custom Piston Wrist Pins for an Air Compressor

It spins slow, way slower than the motor speed. Why don't you just run it as it was designed?

Being prepared for the worst-case scenario...Someone breaking into your garage and robbing you blind

Video inventory for sure, 100% Not much of value in my garage, I'm Craftsman brand or less. Neighbors detached garage was broken into not terribly long ago, he runs a business from it and maybe they knew. Thieves parked in next door neighbors driveway at 4am. They tried to grab cordless...

Bought a 220v motor instead of a 110. What would you do?

Not suggesting this, but also by owning your own, you won't get rejected by a 17 year old booger eater that doesn't know how to read a micrometer, that they can't be cut.

    Overhead Door Threshold

I don't think you'll ever be able to make a water-tight seal at the base of the door. My dad had this same issue. He cut a rectangular box out of the concrete just in front of the door and installed a drain the entire width of the door that led further away and lower than that area. Has not...

Rotary Phase Converter vs VFD for 3-Phase @ Home

Makes sense. Did feel weird typing it out. Looks like they size these things at least 2x the hp required, so I'll target a 5.

Solar panels for you house/ shop

It was 7 years ago. You're right though, I don't know current prices of any of the components. Your system is more than 50% larger than mine, I used 21 panels. My wiring was minimal, as I had a 60 amp 240v feed to my detached garage already, so all I had to do was plug the two 240V hot...
